Indoor Cycling 45:00 [3]

Hand quite sore around last summer's surgery incision site which means I must have aggravated the tendons where they're threaded together -probably from tugging to fit a large needlepoint canvas around a frame too vigorously. So had better take it easy for a few days and rest it. Hopefully it will be better - and there won't be another rupture - by the time more snow arrives next week.

Cross Country Skiing 1:30:00 [2]

Classic at van Ho with David; +2C, sunny, a touch of fresh powder in the tracks. Good chance to compare skin skis (me) with hard wax over klister (David). I had perfect grip and faster glide - he was icing up / not great kick so obviously skins won out, plus I didn't have to mess with klister!

Cross Country Skiing 1:30:00 [3]

Skate from Cascade to van Ho. Typical spring skiing conditions except it's only mid-February, not mid-March. +5C, sunny, slow and mushy in sun, icy and fast in shade, lots of bare spots, downhills very treacherous but at least I could see what was coming up ahead so could prepare to stop dead in the tracks. Van Ho not bad - groomed today so snow pretty loose on bi side, more packed as usual on xc side but soft enough to enjoy though knees were starting to ache after a quick tour of the flats.
