Running (Easy Run) 53:21 [3] 9.0 km (5:56 / km) +324m 5:01 / km
slept:7.5 shoes: Salomen SLAB Cross

We were sleeping in this big teepee but actually was really comfortable and slept really well. Tent was in a forest that was pretty hilly all around so had to do a bit more vertical than intended but really enjoyed it.

Took a while for legs to wake up but once they got going they felt good. Felt quite strong on the incline but obviously not conditioned for this at the moment so was blowing a bit at the top.

Felt very good on the decline. No leg pain.

There really wasnt anywhere that would have been safe to do strideouts.

Had porridge when i got back. Long day hiking to follow but was on course so pace was leisurely to say the least.

Running (Easy Run) 54:09 [2] 11.23 km (4:49 / km) +56m 4:42 / km
slept:8.0 shoes: Nike Pegasus

Slept really well. I cut out coffee completely and bought new eye mask and ear plugs and i think it all made a difference. Had to go to work briefly. Went straight out when i got back. Legs felt very good. No pain or stiffness. Felt back to normal. Strideouts felt in control. Tried to focus on good form. Had veg chilli immedially after getting home

Running (Easy Run) 50:41 [1] 10.29 km (4:56 / km) +50m 4:49 / km
slept:7.5 shoes: Nike Pegasus

Slept pretty well i think. Long day operating and i am trialling no caffeine and i think it did make a difference but was tired.

Had a suprise half day, clinic was cancelled in the afternoon. Had a falafel baguette and fruit for lunch.

Run felt good. Legs feel almost back to normal. Only residual tightness is the left hamstring but that resolved after about 2km

Running (Recovery run) 39:14 [1] 8.07 km (4:52 / km) +37m 4:45 / km
slept:7.5 shoes: Nike Pegasus

Tried to make sure i had a good night sleep. Swapped rest day to tuesday as by the time we got off the phone and id made dinner it was too late to go out and get back for an early night. I thought itd be better to get up early and do it before theatre.

Got up at 0515. Went straight out for run. Legs feeling a lot better. Thigh pain largely gone, now just a bit of ache in the left hamstring. Id say 60% improvement on the previous run.

Nothing much else to report.
Had smoothie as soon as i got home and porridge at work
Been pretty tired all day. Trying to cut out caffeine so was probably just withdrawing from that a bit.

Early night tonight

8 AM

Running (Recovery run) 38:15 [1] 7.61 km (5:02 / km) +46m 4:53 / km
slept:7.5 shoes: Nike Pegasus

Slept pretty well. Had porridge and pineapple for breakfast. Stretched. Quads still sore. Did a bit of foam rollernig. Never really done it before, not sure if it makes any difference.

Had to take car for MOT and ran back. Quads painful on ground impact. eased off again. Probably better than yesterday.

Sunday May 9 #

5 PM

Running (Recovery run) 31:00 [1] 6.37 km (4:52 / km) +48m 4:41 / km
slept:7.5 shoes: Nike Pegasus

We went for a walk in the yorkshire dales. Only around 8km. Not too steep. Legs, especially quads were very stiff and sore particularly on the downslopes.

Trying to catch up on some calories but still probably not have enough over the weekend.

Quads were very painful for the first couple of Kms. This gradually eased off over the rest of the run. Feel very stiff.
