Good night sleep - early morning session before heading to London for a friends 40th, meant head torch hill sprints. Was a bit worried it would be another icy morning as it was cold - but it was fine in the end. Good session.

Felt good - no pains or niggles and hill sprints went well.

Drills + 60mins easy + 6 x Strides

Legs a little heavy from the start butt loosened quickly. No pains or niggles. Mixed surface, trails and tarmac. Strides were good - first too a bit sluggish, but got better and the last 2 felt really fast.

Drills + 20min easy + 12x400 @ avg. 75sec, 40 sec pause + 20min easy.

Didn't realize how cold it was outside, and after last nights rain, it meant that the roads were a mix of water and ice. Was hoping to find a stretch were the sun had managed to get rid of the ice but no. So had to opt for a 400m stretch where 2/3 were wet and 1/3 icy.... Interesting. First few intervals a bit slower than i was aiming for, but the ice made it difficult to keep my pace up. It was fine on the wet bits. Still felt in control - both in terms of the pace/effort and the ice. But a tad slow from the start, slowest interval 78sec. But towards the end, most of the ice was gone and the last two intervals were 73 sec. And it still felt fast but controlled. All in all, good average pace, and the session became a bit progressive. Happy with that. Better temperature forecasted for the next 10 days, so hopefully won't see ice in a while. Trying to avoid going to the gym for the treadmill, but might have to on days like these.

Drills, 56min easy, 6 x strides.

Stiffness gone and legs felt fresh. Opted for a mixed trail and tarmac loop. A bit muddy from the "storm" yesterday but not too bad. Great run despite grey and wet weather. Drills were good - legs felt fresh and I felt light and fast again. No pains or niggles.

Strength - upper body 30:00 [0]

The usual upper body session. Increased weight on pressups - 2 x 17,5kg. 2 x 6 reps. Also increased to 2x10kgs for the renegade rows. Good session.

Legs a bit stiff from yesterday but not too bad. Felt fine throughout and strides were ok. No pains or niggles.

Got exempt from quarantine due to being regular traveler for work, so could train as normal today - thank god! A really good session - truly enjoyed it (like I normally do for the moderate runs). Got into a good rhythm and ran relaxed all the way through. Pace a bit up and down due to some muddy sections, but that didn't bother me at all. Did not look much at my watch or paces at all - just ran by feel. Happy monday. No pains or niggles, and legs felt fresh.

Good night sleep - woke up before the alarm. Went to bed early after the course yesterday. Needed that.

Drills + Easy + 6 x strides

Temperature finally a bit better - Minus 3-4 degrees. But one of the regular winter routes for running in Oslo was more or less clear of snow and ice, so opted for an outdoor run again. Grey morning but still enjoyed it. Nice run along the sea front. No pains or niggles, strides felt fine - not the fastest but not the worst either. Back to England tonight.
