Tired from the start - legs a bit stiff and uncomfortable. Got better but then very sluggish and stiff towards the end. Been a while since I last done a similar sort of distance and terrain + running with a "heavy" backpack. That might explain some, but not all I think. Not the best of days.
First 25+ km flat and fast running, then a lump of a climb before a very annoying section from the start of the lake to Rowardennan. Up and down constantly, but never long enough either way to get into a rhtythm, and the incline just annoying. Did not enjoy that bit at all.
Apart from being tired, no other pains or niggles at least.

Out and back on the west highland way. A little tired from the two previous days, but still felt good. No particular stiffness and no pains or niggles. Looking forward to tomorrows run.

Very pleased with the session - slightly faster than previously but still very much in control. No stiffness and very little fatigue from yesterdays run. No pains or niggles.

Drills + 77' moderate @ avg 3:52 pace.

Legs good - quads more or less normal again. Felt supergood and ended up with a very decent average pace despite it being a very wet and windy morning. Lovely strong headwind for the last third of the run. But didn't mind - was in my zone and in a very good mood. Happy days. No other pains or niggles, felt fresh!

Drills + 64' easy, inc 10 x diagonals.

Quads a lot better today - the right one more or less normal whilst the left still had a tiny bit of soreness. Eased during the first few km and the diagonals went fine. Felt pretty light and fast actually. Enjoyed the run! No other pains or niggles.

Kept it very easy as quads were a bit sore from the weekend. Calfs and hamstrings were fine. Mixed surface, but mostly trails. Flat. No other pains or niggles.

Another fab night sleep.

Felt fresh and rested when I woke up - really ready for my run. Apart from one thing. My quads were pretty sore from yesterday....haha. No surprise, being the first day in a very long time with any real downhill running. Anyway, legs loosened after the first few km and it was a fab session. Great loop that includes two nice climbs, some tehcnical trails and some very runable and pretty fast gravel roads. Really enjoyed it - another beautiful day in the lakes!
Apart from the sore quads, legs were fine and there were no pains or niggles. Another 3 gels during and a protein shake after run. Good Lakes weekend! Back home for a few days before heading to Scotland for the recce.
