Running 2:16:02 [3] 35.01 km (3:53 / km) +98m 3:50 / km
slept:7.0 shoes: Carbon X2

Despite last nights later run, felt fresh for this. Drills felt good and the body quickly activated to get going.

Warm and sunny from the start. Through the parks, to the bay and return, similar route to last few times, with a little more faff but nothing that really interrupted pace. Around 13km in knee first started a mild nag, eased off the pace a bit, and it never got worse or had to stop.

Definitely feeling very comfortable hitting these long moderate efforts. Only held back by the knee slightly, but absorbing these sessions well and fitness is there to sit on this pace for extended periods.

Had to cut things a little short, due to travelling out to West Wales today for a couple of days and already behind schedule, will make sure I don't cut the next ones short.

1 x 500ml drink mix and one gel. Total cal - 320.
Before the run: water, 1 banana and some peanut butter @ 7am.

Got away with the 500ml but need to stash a bottle or carry more for the next effort if things keep heating up.

Have received the updated schedule, strength plan and looking over the Ski-erg technique etc. Looking forward to seeing how the body responds to it!

Running 1:20:38 [2] 15.78 km (5:07 / km) +394m 4:33 / km
slept:7.0 shoes: HOKA Clifton 7

Late run for the day, but felt great once I got out. A nice summer evening and with the long days no issue. Nice and bouncy in the stride and had to hold back keeping it easy. Knee felt pretty good, just a little sensation on descents but less than yesterday. Consciously reigned in the descending pace to keep it as happy as possible into tomorrows steady effort.

Good mix of forest gravel trails and dry hills keeping it as soft underfoot as possible.

4 Strideouts in the car park to finish. Feeling really poppy on these and moving well a good sign for tomorrow.

Running 59:54 [1] 13.02 km (4:36 / km) +34m 4:32 / km
slept:7.0 shoes: HOKA Clifton 7

Very easy and relaxed, keep it flat through the parks to keep the knee as happy and eased as possible. Felt it niggling a little but nothing building throughout just now and again, it would come and go.

Energy overall feeling great, legs are happy with the load and not carrying any fatigue from the long run.

4 Stride outs to finish, feeling fresh given the 2 hour day into the 4 hours. Fitness is fine besides the niggle.

As mentioned, feeling optimistic overall and enjoying training.

Running 3:32:08 [2] 38.52 km (5:30 / km) +1454m 4:38 / km
slept:6.0 shoes: HOKA Challenger ATR 6

Too little sleep with early morning wake up with the baby and a few wakes in the night.

Fresh pair of Challengers today, always make you realise how knackered your old pair of shoes are.

Another hot one, with things getting stormy and muggy towards the end. Did feel the heat more than I expected, it was pretty still and exposed for a lot of the run. But nothing major.

Disappointed I didn't get the 4 hours in. An enjoyable mix of fire road, gravel trails and dusty hills. Felt like I was carrying some of that fatigue in the knees from yesterday and just a bit rigid in the stride overall. On the last descent back to the car, the left knee started to moan a bit, which ultimately led to cutting the run short. I had planned to pick up another bottle at the car and continue on a short loop but felt better to stop.

Since the run, the knee has been fine. It's definitely getting there overall and can't see any issue in tomorrow's run.

slept:6.5 shoes: HOKA Challenger ATR 6

It's certainly heating up with 24C in this run. Felt like the left knee was there a little in the background at points, but didn't really affect things much.

Nice hilly loop on the trails.

Shoes felt pretty flat towards the halfway point of the run. Felt like I was taking the load a bit more than I should have through the descents.

500ml water for the run.

Running 1:04:39 [1] 13.37 km (4:50 / km) +234m 4:27 / km
slept:7.0 shoes: HOKA Clifton 7

Late out the door again, but felt really good once I got moving, one of those runs when you feel like you could keep running endlessly.

Hit the strides towards the final stage of the run, pace and stride feeling good.

Running 1:25:00 [1] 15.11 km (5:38 / km) +417m 4:57 / km
slept:7.0 shoes: HOKA Challenger ATR 6

Feeling good after the steady Sat. Maybe a slight hint of something in the left knee on descents, but nothing building through the run. Pace super easy.

Things finally heating up with some sunshine again.
