Run 1:04:00 [2]

TNT.

Jim, and S^2 were there.

I ran mostly with Jim. Everyone (me included) seemed sluggish. It was cold -- that might have been a factor.

My light seems dimmer than I remember. Maybe get some lithiums?

Something like 24:15 and 25:00.

Dinner was pleasant.

warmup

Orienteering race 59:37 [4] *** 7.9 km (7:33 / km) +280m 6:25 / km
ahr:155 max:170 shoes: New VJ Spikes

Mt. Misery,

So-so, but annoying race.

Aggrieved my pet peeve -- hiding controls behind unmapped objects. At least three egregious examples today. One I spiked, accidentally, but still unfair.

If a control is in a rentrant, it should be visible in the reentrant. Not hidden behind a bloody tree that's not on the map. Or behind an unmapped shock of grass. Then there is the tree in the forest issue.

The Xing on the river was weird, too. I wouldn't have thought of running in the river, but I assumed you weren't supposed to run along it either, so I didn't, going amore around than I would have preferred.

Anyway, had about 3 minutes of mistakes finding controls. I also had some route choice issues (like above) but aren't counting those.
