Note
(rest day)

Unscheduled rest day.

This occurred because I had World Series tickets offered to me ~Tuesday, and after a very quick consideration, decided it would be insane not to go. So, go I did.

Yesterday I did the bike before departure to NYC on the Acela (which was an hour late, of course--not making the rendezvous easy, but it did work out.)

And the game was amazing! Cliff Lee--muy, muy buen!

So, when it was over, had some drinks with my benefactor, then to Penn Station for a 3AM train back to Boston. Again, I get some fitful sleep on the train, but by the time I alight from it, my eyes are burning and feeling exhausted. Not a good follow-on to Sunday's antics. I needed to buckle down and get some sleep and get back to a human schedule (rather than the Ian one I found myself on.)

Bike 1:00:00 [2]

Level 8 hills.

Tuesday Oct 27, 2009 #

Run 1:00:00 intensity: (48:00 @2) + (8:00 @3) + (4:00 @4)
shoes: 9 2007 Saucony

Level 8 hills. Tempo at 48, 10mph at 56, 10.5 at 57, and 11 at 59. All speeds felt good.

1034 calories.

Note

Missed my track work for the first time in weeks, sadly.

I got dressed to go, and even got outside, but the weather was marginal at best. I made an executive decision that due to my recent adventures, etc., I may have been sufficiently run down, sleep deprived, etc., that in conjunction with drizzly weather, I would be setting myself up for an epic fail and would be inviting at least a frustrating performance and quite possibly illness.

I think this was the right choice.
