Blakeholm Training - No kites.

Something felt wrong from the start just never running in the right direction. Once I realised the compass and north lines didn't match up (Checked against a long straight fence and a road), I put the compass away and things felt better, nav was still a bit questionable as I didn't have my compass for direction, but it felt more correct.

Once at home, checked the compass against another one and it seemed to be fine so I think the north lines must be wrong. North lines aren't even 300m spacings.

Easy 45 that route is now 40 minutes.

New running shorts are amazing and HR monitor seems to be working properly again.

Some discomfort in the calfy-shiny area, but seems to be okay

ahr:131 max:157

75 minutes easy pace.

A few niggles early on, probably from the fell race but got rid of them very quickly.

Possibly something wrong with my HR monitor as it’s not giving the same readings as it normally does. I will try wash it to see if makes any difference.

Blencathra Fell Race

Maybe went out a little too hard, but the start felt good.

Struggling a lot on the uphills and flats, much of what I expected given recent form. I think hills need to be a much bigger part of my training going into next year.

Slower than what wanted, given current shape I was hoping for about a 1:10 slowest 1:15, but a strong head wind on the tops so was 1:18. So only a little slower than I would have liked. Need to get myself on those hills a bit more. Downhills were good, lacking a bit of confidence and fitness on those too, but nothing bad.

Looking forward to doing a few more fell races over the summer to get some fitness back.

HR not as high as I thought it would be, so maybe need to watch that.

Running - Fell 41:27 intensity: (39 @0) + (2:07 @1) + (36:45 @2) + (1:56 @3) 6.08 km (6:49 / km) +260m 5:37 / km
ahr:144 max:157

45 minutes. The route did not take 45 minutes, despite the head wind.
So overall much better than the last time I did this route. The other hamstring doing weird things today. Probably just overly paranoid due to the number of people with hamstring injuries at the moment.
