Rocky Mountain State Games - Fox Run - RMOC Red course. Gold in 30+ so not bad, but very impressed w/ the guy that did Red in 59 min's !!, and also pretty amazed by the other guy that ran w/ a big backpack, awesome stuff out there today. Really awesome open and runnable woods--but the big hill climbs definitely slowed everything down, otherwise it could have been considered a long sprint. The map exchange control made it interesting. Definitely felt the increase in altitude, breathing rate was wild. Only had 1 major navigation issue the whole course, a couple minor errors, but the rest of the course I was spiking and usually from a long distance. Had 1 issue where I forgot if I punched the ppv control when arriving at 10, so ran back to 9 & punched it just to be sure. Much better bearing discipline, so that seems to be improving. Here's the details:

-almost a spike, just a little slow coming into it
- spike- just a long slog up the hill
- spike, saw it from way far away
- well, if I was supposed to go to 5 and then 4 it would've been perfect
- since I had already been here it was easy!
- Not sure how I screwed this one up but wound up way west. I think somehow I screwed up my bearing coming off of 5 and wound up on a parallel trail from the one I wanted further west...took a while to relocate and re-attack. Worst nav error the whole day.
- spike
- spike, just slowed down a lot going up the huge hill
- spike, sort of...didn't pay att'n to if I actually punched it, so when I got to 10 I decided to go back to 9 just to be sure
- spike, just had to go back to 9 again just in case. map exchange control
- spike
- spike- long leg but good routes probably should have ran this faster
- ho hum, it was decent but not good. there were some similar/parallel features all around so it was a bit tricky but I was always pretty close to it when I got close to the circle
- spike
- spike, just slowed down on this leg
- almost spiked it, *lots* of uphill on this long leg, so intermittent walking and running, originally mistook the fence corner control for this one but corrected very quickly
- spike, just slow going up the hill
- " "
- spike
- spike
- spike
F- spike- basically went straight there.

Will do a RouteGadget entry if its offered. Thank you RMOC for an awesome event and Rocky Mtn State Games crew too. Had fun walking part of the yellow rec course w/ the fam afterwards. Very nice day for it.
