Well, finally accomplished the bucket list item of orienteering in China! At Qinglonghu Park (Green Dragon Lake Park) on SW outskirt of Beijing recently.
It was part of the recent PWT China tour. Pretty overly easy course but a couple places that could hang you up. Here's the map I used:
The part most memorable wasn't the orienteering, but asking a guy where to find a toilet. He says "lai" (come), we walk up a hill together, and then on the other side of the hill is a forest slope littered w/ bits of toilet paper where he promptly says "here" and proceeds to pull his pants down, crouch down, and let it go. Now I know where the "toilet" is.
