Tuesday Oct 31

Note
(sick)
Picked up the nasty cold that's doing the rounds last night - will hopefully only be two or three days off.

Monday Oct 30

Road run 49:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel GT 2100
First winter run on roads, not looking forward to several months of it. Ran with Craney and friend, out to Fulwood and back, steady bit not fast - one hill in the middle which was a bit harder. Tired from the length of yesterday rather than the distance (at least I wasn't recovering from the OMM).

Sunday Oct 29

Terrain run 4:00:00 [2]27 km (8:53 / km)
Survey trip from Ladybower up to Bleaklow (for Peaks map). Limited time so jogged most of it. Lots of bog and peat hags. Well tired, beautiful day to be out in the hills though.

Saturday Oct 28

Note
Spent all day looking at cars for Faye, ran out of time to go for a run :-(
C • Are you getting a car? We fin... 4

Friday Oct 27

Trail run 42:00 [1]
Evening jog up Rivelin with Faye. Still quite tired, so happy to run slow. Tried a little bit harded on hills.

Thursday Oct 26

Trail run 39:05 [2]
Still feeling tired, but just about managed to drag myself out for a run. Went exploaring along the vallry side of Rivelin. Felt quite good once I'd warmed up.

Wednesday Oct 25

Note
(rest day)
Ring minging day, cold wet and windy, seamed like a good day for a rest.

Tuesday Oct 24

Trail run 40:20 [2]
Tired from the past few days, (hamstrings hurt from lunges last night). Ran slow but steady up Rivelin.

Monday Oct 23

Warm up/down warm up/down 15:00 [1]
Exercise bike and jogging to warm up and stretching to warm down
Circuits intervals 45:00 [4]
A bit easier than last week but still weak on the arm related exercises. Back generally gives up before other limbs.
Orienteering 45:00 [2]
Fun score event arounf Walkley in the dark. Had not light so reading maps and looking for the answers was a bit challenging, fun though. Never got any speed or rhythm going. Tired from the weekend but not desperately so.

Sunday Oct 22

Warm up/down warm up/down 5:00 [1]
Short warm up, couldn't find anyone to do a real warm down with :-(
Orienteering race 1:09:25 [5]**** 8.5 km (8:10 / km) +505m 6:18 / km
shoes: VJ Falcons
Twin Peaks day 2. Rough steep and quite dull mountain. A lot of climb, but most of it nearly runnable. Happy with the way I ran, and aside from getting bad running to number 2, no mistakes - though the navigation was very simple. Oli won again in about 62 minutes.

Saturday Oct 21

Event: Twin Peak Weekend

Orienteering race 1:10:40 [5]*** 8.5 km (8:19 / km) +410m 6:42 / km
shoes: VJ Falcons
Twin Peaks day 1. Rough steep forest near Buxton, not a lot of detail but otherwise to my liking. A bit tired from the past two days so couldn't attack hills, but quite happy with the run otherwise. Finished 4th, Oli won in 63 mins.
Warm up/down warm up/down 15:00 [1]
Did quite a long warm up with Aishy, so felt quite good starting, walked up the hill to warm down!

Friday Oct 20

Trail run 52:20 [2]
Felt tired after yesterday (which was a 4+ in effort), but kept running on the hills all the same, up Rivelin again. ITB a bit sore.

Thursday Oct 19

Trail run 1:16:30 [3]
Evening run up Rivelin, went further west than I've been before, getting quite dark in the wooded bits by the end. Lovely evening to be out, really enjoyed the run and felt good, if a little tired at the start.

Wednesday Oct 18

Note
Very busy in university, couldn't face a run when I got home (about 7.30).

Tuesday Oct 17

Note
Rest day

Monday Oct 16

Circuits 50:00 [4]
First time in nearly two years that I've done circuits, so didn't push too hard - stomach and arms will still be sore tomorrow though.

Sunday Oct 15

Orienteering race 56:12 [5]10.2 km (5:31 / km)
CompassSport Cup final. Very flat and dull area near Newbury. Quite happy with the way I ran, just less than a mpk behind Matt Crane (47 mins). FVO finished second in the small clubs, not a bad result as if was so far from Scotland.

Brown - Splits

Saturday Oct 14

Warm up/down 10:00 [2]
Still felt tired, especially on hills.
Orienteering 32:00 [4]4.2 km (7:37 / km)
Felt much better once I warmed up, ran quite well (up to a point) but forgot to use my brain for three controls in a row. Hills (thankfully few and small) were still hard work though.

Friday Oct 13

Trail run 1:07:00 [3]
Steady run around Stanage and Redmires with Matt. Felt fine and a the pace but didn't have anything more in my legs.

Thursday Oct 12

Recovery run 46:00 [1]
Ran on my own, fellt a bit better, but nothing on hills, still very sore descending
Note
(injured)
Ankle quite sore today, gave it a rest (lazy)

Wednesday Oct 11

Note
Rest day

Tuesday Oct 10

Recovery run 40:00 [2]
Still very tired, walked hills, legs still hurting

Monday Oct 9

Recovery run 40:00 [1]
Very slow recovery jog with Chris and Matt, legs very sore

Sunday Oct 8

Fell race 3:13:51 [5]20.0 mi (9:40 / mi)
Great run, started slow (still tired from last Sunday) but felt great for the second half. Managed three hours before feting any cramps

Friday Oct 6

Trail run 50:00 [3]
Steady run up Loxley valley, ankle felt fine, but legs still tired on hills - how am I going to manage Sunday?

Wednesday Oct 4

Recovery run 10:00 [2]
recovery jog to university
Orienteering race 16:00 [4]***
Shuoc Park race for beginners. Still tired from Sunday, ran okay but not uphill, twisted my right ankle in an odd way, quite sore this evening

Tuesday Oct 3

Trail run 32:00 [3]
Tired, but ran surprisingly well, especially up the last hill (from Rivelin)

Sunday Oct 1

Adventure race race 4:53:00 [5]
Open 5 - Malham 85 minutes orienteering, the rest mtbo. Not an ideal route but happy with overall result.
