Event: BUSA Championships

Warm up/down warm up/down 25:00 [2]
shoes: VJ Falcons
Orienteering race 57:10 [5]***** 7.9 km (7:14 / km) +415m 5:44 / km
shoes: VJ Falcons
BUSA individual. Steep and rough forest much to my liking, very hard to maintain a good pace (slippery and a lot of fallen trees). Section on open moor was somewhat more dull and more about speed. Map a bit doggy in areas and lost a few seconds on two controls because of this, good course though. FInished third less than 30 seconds behinf Oleg and a further 2 mins down on Oli. Happy with result there were quite a few runners quite close behind me.

Friday Mar 30

Trail run 35:40 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel GT 2100
Along the side of Rivelin. Felt a bit better than yesterday but still heavy and sluggish - will hopefully be feeling better tomorrow.

Thursday Mar 29

Road run 34:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel GT 2100
Quite an easy run around the hills in Carsick (exploring - very nice). Still feeling very flat, guess tow days of standing doesn't help.

Wednesday Mar 28

walk 3:30:00 [0]
Finishing scout map

Tuesday Mar 27

walk 6:00:00 [0]
Surveying scout camp in Cheshire

Monday Mar 26

Trail run 56:20 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel GT 2100
Run up Black Tor and a loop around the back from Strines. Felt so flat today which was a shame as once the cloud burnt off it was a smashing day. Perhaps I need more protein or carbs in my diet and less sugar and fat...
Strength exercises 15:00 [3]

Warm up/down warm up/down 15:00 [1]
Orienteering race 1:02:20 [5]10 km (6:14 / km) +340m 5:20 / km
Orienteering near Leeds. Didn't feel great, a bit stiff after such a lazy week. Ran ok but without any agression. Quite a dull area, quite rough open and a steep bit of wood. Poor map and desperate printing.
