Sunday Dec 9

Orienteering race 1:09:00 [5]10.4 km (6:38 / km) +425m 5:31 / km
shoes: VJ Falcon 07
DVO National Event - Longshaw. Cold day in the car park but not to bad once moving through the forest. Happy enough with the run, but tired on last hill, caught a rather ill looking Nails and had a good race with him for the last few km. Map felt like it hasn't been re-mapped in the past twenty years, very old fashioned and not very accurate, nice to get out for a good run though.

Warm up/down warm up/down 25:00 [2]
shoes: VJ Falcon 07
Climbing 45:00 [2]
Spent an hour and a half at the Works with Chris and Anne in the evening, nice way to wind down after a full weekend.

Saturday Dec 8

Event: ShUOC Chasing Sprint and Captians Memorial

Orienteering race 21:19 [4]4 km (5:20 / km)
shoes: VJ Falcon 07
SHUOC Sprint prologue. On new map of Eccy woods by OJ, it was awesome, the only bit I recognised was the road crossing! A few small wobbles of several seconds and then a off line route and a bad miss towards the end, lost maybe 50 seconds, also never got up to full speed, but that's always difficult in terrain like this. A nice course, a lot of fun and surprised to be leading.
Orienteering race 19:59 [5]4 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: VJ Falcon 07
SHUOC Sprint final. Had a slight lead of Nick B (20 seconds) and Nails (30) so wanted to start well, didn't, didn't see the first control behind (a very small) boulder and got caught by Nick straight away, Nails reeled us in on the long path run to 2 and we spent the rest of the race swapping order as each of us took it in turns to make 2-3 second mistakes! Did lose a bit more on one, but so did the others. Decided to push it over the hill near the end and was glad the other two followed, got the smallest of leads and kept it over the last few controls. So much fun navigating on maps like this, everything was exactly as it should be. Excellent day all round apart from the rather minging weather, especially for the start of teh final.
Warm up/down warm up/down 15:00 [2]
shoes: VJ Falcon 07
Jog to/from prologue start/finish
Warm up/down warm up/down 10:00 [2]
shoes: VJ Falcon 07
Very brief warm up/down in the rain/hail for the final.

Friday Dec 7

Road run 45:40 [3]
shoes: Ascis Gel GT 2110
Out to the end of Fulwood and back along the top in the wet and dark, got absolutely drenched by the contents of an icy cold puddle by a bus. Had to keep going just to produce some body heat.
Strength exercises 25:00 [3]

Thursday Dec 6

Note
(rest day)
No time for exercise today, had to finish uni work so I can have some time off on the weekend.

Wednesday Dec 5

Terrain run 1:33:00 [2]
Stanage and Burbage in the bogs and heather with little Rob. Don't know what was up with Rob but he was quite a bit off pace so most of it turned out to be a slow trot through high heather. Mild but a very cold wind and getting dark at the end. Good to get out and do a good terrain session though.

Tuesday Dec 4

Trail run 1:04:25 [3]
slept:7.0 weight:70kg shoes: Asics Torana
Rivelin in the dark, new batteries so out with he big light - much easier. Hamstrings sore from yesterday so a bit sluggish, otherwise the first day that I've felt completely better.

Monday Dec 3

Circuits 40:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel GT 1120 07
Very hard work after missing last week and not doing any exercises all week. Felt really tired so took it very easy.
Warm up/down 20:00 [2]
shoes: Asics Gel GT 1120 07
