IW. Not as painful as I was expecting and actually quite enjoyed it, almost feeling good! Nice morning for it, mild and dry but with a soft dampness in the air. Hopefully this is the start of a decent few weeks training as the past two months have been pants in terms of consistency.

Run - Road 33:57 intensity: (15 @0) + (1:06 @1) + (4:31 @2) + (22:47 @3) + (5:18 @4) 7.34 km (4:38 / km) +33m 4:31 / km

HFW. Short and quite a bit on grass. Legs a little tender, guess that's from several days use after a week off.

British Middle Championships, Stanton Moor, 4.8km, 190m, M21E. Knew I liked this area so had been looking forward to this event, and did enjoy the area very much. Didn't enjoy the way I was feeling though, which was very dizzy throughout (heart rate consistently high again) and unable to get into top gear. Wasn't moving slowly but also wasn't running hard. Technically I was a little scrappy throughout the first control pick section (maybe losing 40 seconds) but was clean enough thereafter. Succeeded in my aim of a top 10 and wouldn't have been that much higher had I been running stronger, but would have enjoyed it more. Nevertheless it was a decent course (if a little short), decent area, decent day and an excellent map from OJ (though much harder to read at 10k).

Nice and easy jog around the first loop (after the start had closed) with Alex. Bumped into a very slight looking OJ returning from his session. Still feeling dizzy.

A bit too much time in the sun with no food or water, lovely day for watching the sprint though.

Note

No time for running, but did have a very nice walk with baby Kendall.

Easy run from Guiseley, quite breezy out and the wind was right whistling through my hair on top of the Chevin. Legs felt beyond awful.

Note
(rest day)

Rest day, sensible I believe to make sure that I have a nice easy build up to more training again. Besides I’ve got to go visit my niece and baby Aoife this evening.

Run - Trail 59:19 intensity: (5 @0) + (1:32 @1) + (6:58 @2) + (20:31 @3) + (15:47 @4) + (14:26 @5) 10.42 km (5:42 / km) +383m 4:49 / km

A hugely enjoyable evening run with the MDC gang, actually quite similar to yesterdays route (I failed to look up where this evenings run was until I got home) but it didn't matter and the evening was glorious - feeling much stronger this evening as well. Also great food provided by one of the members afterwards. Could get used to running like this!

Came to the conclusion of the difference between a pit and a small depression (brought upon by the old Llantrisant map having lots of pits on which I'm calling depressions); You can run through a depression but a pit you would go around. Simple.
