7 AM

Bike - Road 30:38 [2] 13.02 km (2:21 / km) +40m 2:19 / km

IW. Another nice but nippy morning.
6 PM

Bike - Road 32:05 [3] 13.2 km (2:26 / km) +64m 2:22 / km

Fail, work to Alan and Ruth's for the MDC run, only got there to discover I should be at the Ty Nant... Extra speedy cycle needed. The nice people all waited until I got there and then left before I was ready...

Run - Trail 1:04:54 intensity: (20:00 @1) + (21:00 @2) + (21:00 @3) + (2:54 @4) 9.11 km (7:07 / km) +401m 5:50 / km

MDC run lead by Alan from Ty Nant to the Garth and Back. Big group and a very easy pace, especially going downhills. All going well (if slowly) until GD44 took the lead... Fail. I now know that there is no path around the east side of Taff's Well quarry and that the woods are very steep. A bit of a faff but good fun all the same and nice to eventually explore this area.
7 PM

Bike - Road 12:48 [2] 4.78 km (2:41 / km) +19m 2:37 / km

Back to Alan and Ruth's With MarkP for an excellent feed. No fail here.
10 PM

Bike - Road 20:06 [2] 7.41 km (2:43 / km) +46m 2:38 / km

Home from Alan and Ruth's. Main light wouldn't work and back up was corroded. Fail. Had to take the back roads and keep on the cycle trails. Light enough to see where I was going and I was plenty visible from the rear, just had to hide if a car was coming against me.

Bike - Road 31:45 [2] 13.09 km (2:26 / km) +39m 2:23 / km

IW. Feeling surprisingly nippy considering yesterday. Also considerably nippy for mid summer.
7 PM

Bike - Road 31:07 [3] 12.88 km (2:25 / km) +49m 2:22 / km

HFW. Again, moving okay, did a couple of short bursts but otherwise took it handy enough.

Run - Terrain 3:10:48 [2] 29.09 km (6:34 / km) +772m 5:47 / km
shoes: La Sportiva Crosslite (5)

Stunning afternoon and eventually made it out after I managed to complete all of my chores. Went exploring again and took in (possibly) the highest point in the Beacon's that I hadn't visited yet (Merthyr Common). Felt good for two hours and then went through a right bad spell (probably not helped by yesterday), chugged away to the finish without feeling any worse. Lovely gorge and river valley at the start, well worth more exploring.

Run - Trail 1:56:09 [3] 17.66 km (6:35 / km) +564m 5:40 / km
shoes: La Sportiva Crosslite (4)

A bit longer than planned but a lovely evening and I was enjoying it, until the end at least when I started to get a bit bored. Right ankle still not happy with running, it seems okay from a strength point of view but there's nerve pain inside it somewhere.

Run - Trail 1:22:18 [3] 13.46 km (6:07 / km) +316m 5:28 / km
shoes: Adidas Kanadia TR4

Went exploring a tip the other side of Nartgarw that I hadn't been around before. A bit too much on tarmac for my liking but the tip itself had some nice tracks and the woodland below was good. Running felt harder work than it should have for the effort, although I was moving okay.

7 AM

Bike - Road 29:07 [3] 13.02 km (2:14 / km) +38m 2:12 / km

IW. Bruised back from last night, arms also a little tired. Legs working okay though.
5 PM

Bike - Road 28:06 [3] 12.68 km (2:13 / km) +53m 2:10 / km

HFW. Easy start and then pushed on a bit. Going okay by the end.

7 AM

Bike - Road 32:20 [2] 13.05 km (2:29 / km) +42m 2:26 / km

IW. Got half way in before it started raining. Wet but not a disaster.
8 PM

Bike - Road 32:16 [2] 12.87 km (2:30 / km) +57m 2:27 / km

HFW. After go-karting. Got half way home and it started to rain... Fortunately it didn't come to anything.
