Plan had been Skidaw but upon arrival in the Lakes the glorious morning sunshine was quickly replaced with rain. Opted for a low level route somewhere new, so around Thirlmere it was. Sign's said part of the circular route was closed and then when I got to the end of the lake the road was closed. Didn't once think that would mean that the whole west side of the lake would be blocked. So three-quarters of the way down the far side and yes, everything was shut. Thankfully no work going on and made it around after climbing 5 barriers... Tired, hungry and cold for the last 20 minutes into a head wind.

With Greg to some rocking rock and some blokes seat. Got the best of the day, with lovely afternoon light on the moors. Steady pace but a few too many tracks for my what my legs wanted. Enjoyed it, but getting tired by the end.

MDC on Sugar Loaf. Surprisingly windy and also quite wet, but thankfully quite mild. Reasonable size gang out for the first proper winter run of the season.
