Sunday Aug 4 #

Note
(rest day)

Too hot all day to run and busy in the evening when it eventually cooled. Quite happy to take it easy for the day.

Saturday Aug 3 #

5 PM

Trail run 58:26 intensity: (40 @0) + (7:42 @1) + (12:19 @2) + (21:40 @3) + (16:05 @4) 9.31 km (6:17 / km) +295m 5:25 / km
ahr:138 max:163 shoes: Salomon Fellraiser 2019 (aqua)

Back home from the lake in Quillian. Hotter today but managed to time it with a bit of cloud cover and as the hottest part of the day had passed. Still really struggling with both the heat and running.

Friday Aug 2 #

11 AM

Trail run 1:35:40 intensity: (17 @0) + (12:10 @1) + (31:09 @2) + (27:42 @3) + (24:21 @4) + (1 @5) 15.43 km (6:12 / km) +415m 5:28 / km
ahr:136 max:165 shoes: Salomon Fellraiser 2019 (aqua)

To Renne les Baine with Greg. Very hard work in the heat and with a useless body. Quite a few new trails but most were much bigger than I was hoping. Also a bit further than expecting.

Thursday Aug 1 #

5 PM

Trail run 59:16 intensity: (15 @0) + (16:01 @1) + (16:06 @2) + (21:01 @3) + (5:53 @4) 9.9 km (5:59 / km) +262m 5:17 / km
ahr:130 max:160 shoes: Salomon Fellraiser 2019 (aqua)

With Greg up Col som Nome and Fa. Not mad hot but enough to drain all my energy. Also slow due to general condition and lack of fitness.

Wednesday Jul 31 #

7 AM

Road bike 31:01 intensity: (8 @0) + (13:22 @1) + (17:00 @2) + (31 @3) 12.93 km (2:24 / km) +25m 2:23 / km
ahr:121 max:139

IW. Very slow to get going this morning. But last morning before holidays so not so bad.
5 PM

Road bike 32:56 intensity: (17 @0) + (7:16 @1) + (18:01 @2) + (7:22 @3) 12.88 km (2:33 / km) +23m 2:32 / km
ahr:126 max:145

HFW. On holiday!!!

Tuesday Jul 30 #

7 AM

Road bike 30:23 intensity: (1 @0) + (2:34 @1) + (20:04 @2) + (7:01 @3) + (43 @4) 12.9 km (2:21 / km) +31m 2:20 / km
ahr:131 max:155

IW. Didn't expect to find out how wet the new tarmac got quite so quickly! Tipping it down when I left, but mild and it eased as I got away form the hills. Probably the fewest other cyclists I have seen on a summer commute (35 I think).
5 PM

Road bike 32:38 intensity: (1 @0) + (3:06 @1) + (24:21 @2) + (5:10 @3) 12.54 km (2:36 / km) +23m 2:35 / km
ahr:128 max:143

HFW. Rain stopped but clothes still soggy.
6 PM

Trail run 1:24:34 intensity: (43 @0) + (27:43 @1) + (34:17 @2) + (18:39 @3) + (2:35 @4) + (37 @5) 9.02 km (9:23 / km) +535m 7:14 / km
ahr:126 max:179 shoes: Salomon Fellraiser 2017 (blue)

Very slow MDC run from the far side of the Storey Arms. Lots of new ground for me, and a brace of very nice valleys. Didn't feel great but the climbs were very steep. Lost the front half of the group in the mist on the first hill. Will be back to explore more.

Monday Jul 29 #

7 AM

Road run 51:08 intensity: (1 @0) + (53 @1) + (6:06 @2) + (7:39 @3) + (36:13 @4) + (16 @5) 10.6 km (4:50 / km) +41m 4:44 / km
ahr:150 max:167 shoes: Asics trail (orange)

IW. On foot as had to leave the bike in work on Friday to get the hire car back. As expected, the first 15 minutes was miserable, just feeling so dead. Woke up about half way but still not fun. Down Whitchurch Road as it's less tedious than Northern Avenue. Very rewarding way to start the day though. Despite being on the road a fair bit longer than cycling, I saw notably fewer cyclists, which shows how important a good cycle route is in attracting people to cycle.
5 PM

Road bike 29:02 intensity: (1 @0) + (2:07 @1) + (7:00 @2) + (16:56 @3) + (2:58 @4) 12.81 km (2:16 / km) +23m 2:15 / km
ahr:138 max:162

HFW. A tail wind in the evening!!! This is not supposed to happen. But it was very nice and made cycling home feel good for a change. New surface through the industrial estate is super smooth - think it may cause a lot of spray in the wet though.
