A few detours at the start as we had to wade a river to avoid paying the park entrance fee (we didn't have any money on us and the car was 2km back down the road). A relatively easy climb but legs were shot, so had to walk just about all of it. Set Boyzone off on a longer loop once up in the hills proper, as I struggled up to the ridge. Unfortunately it was a horrible morning and very misty, so the amazing views were not seen. Again, shoes were awful on the wet stones so had to take a lot of the descent very cautiously. Boyzone caught me about two-thirds of the way down. Frustratingly, the afternoon and evening cleared to a beautiful day, but there was WOC long distance to watch!

Loop on the Polish side of the High Tatra's. Up to the amazingly popular Morskie Oko (lake) but it was so misty you could hardly see the lake's edge. What the hundreds of people doing the 8km walk up the tarmac road thought of their reward I would like to know! Discovered that my shoes were worse than I thought on the wet rocks (also legs were a tad tired from yesterday) so opted for a lower pass than Boyzone. Thankfully the cloud cleared int eh next valley and there were briefly some great views. However these were followed by a lighting storm so we got off the hill as quite as possible. A long a dull run back to the car. Going to have to come back when the cloud is away.

A run up Rysy (highest mountain in Poland) from the Slovak side. Nice day with high cloud keeping the temperature down. A very popular walk and had to wait about 20 minutes at one stage to get up a ladder. Trail was continuous stones all the way, meaning lots of concentration and no rest on the way down. Bonus trip up Koprovsky sit on the way down. Hard end as we ended up on a road and had a tough pull back up to the car. Lovely place for a run.
