Nice and steady longish run with Ollie over to the hill fort near Llantisant -found a lovely new path up through the woods to from the far side. Another lovely but quite cold day, but still feeling like spring. Hip a lot more niggly than I was expecting, though not actually sore at all.

Bike - Road 4:10:55 intensity: (2:00:29 @1) + (1:54:36 @2) + (14:54 @3) + (56 @4) 91.55 km (2:44 / km) +894m 2:37 / km

Around the VoG with Nick and Mark. Nice day but colder than expected, so was only just warm enough. Easy but steady pace for most of it with a few hill efforts thrown in (plus quite a few new lanes ticked off). Stop for tea and cake in Cowbridge (very nice) before a straighter route home. Chain came off and got stuck on a steep short hill 15km from home and clean snapper the rear derailleur in two. A bit of roadside remedy converted me to a single speed - although one that kept jumping between gears, but enough to get me home.

After yesterday's poor running I didn't have much motivation today and kept putting it off. If I wasn't on a good run of consecutive days training I probably wouldn't have bothered. Grateful of that in the end as once out I felt a world better than yesterday and it was a glorious evening. one of those occurrences that you know that if you do something that you will be glad of it.

This was really hard work, body just felt knackered even though I had a very easy day yesterday. Still, nice to be out and kept the run pretty short.

To chiropractor, very slowly as not wanting to arrive sweaty. Been so long since I've cycled that I didn't know how may layers I should be wearing.

Back home. Able to try a bit harder but legs not there - this was really slow compared to my old commuting times.

Strength exercises 29:29 intensity: (17:20 @0) + (10:30 @1) + (52 @2) + (47 @3)
ahr:83 max:142

Core session with work. Not very hard but making sure that I wasn't straining my back but still working the core as much as I could.
5 PM

Run - Trail 1:07:02 intensity: (22 @0) + (8:28 @1) + (16:06 @2) + (22:02 @3) + (17:45 @4) + (2:19 @5) 11.54 km (5:48 / km) +336m 5:04 / km
ahr:134 max:169 shoes: Salomon Fellraiser 2019 (aqua)

MDC run with Martyn, up the Garth (as was a lovely, but cool, evening) - where we bumped into Chris - and then then around Pentyrch - where we bumped into Darren - finishing with the Lesser garth - where we saw no one. Up was hard, but managed to keep going. Nothing in the quads to allow fast descending though.

Bike - Static 47:30 intensity: (24 @0) + (32:47 @1) + (12:59 @2) + (1:20 @3)
ahr:110 max:137

Quite battered after yesterday so nice just to sit still and spin away for a wee while. Legs much looser afterwards and thankful for the easy session.
6 PM

Pilates 57:58 intensity: (49:22 @0) + (8:17 @1) + (19 @2)
ahr:72 max:123

FVO Pilates. Tired quads made quite a few of the one-legged exercises a challenge. Otherwise just struggling with anything that involved much effort. Glad I did though.
