Rowing 56:23 [5] 8.19 km (6:53 / km)

Novice A Regional Final - Stroke Seat
There was some very tough competition, especially since we didn’t prioritize our Novice A boat and I think other clubs did. This meant that they were more likely to be faster and some of our novices raced in varsity, jv, and u17 instead of novice A. Our bow seats seat came off at the start but she handled it really well and quickly recovered. The boat was a bit disappointed, but I’m proud because we gave it our all.
4th out of 5 boats in Final A

Rowing 1:15:48 [5] 8.07 km (9:23 / km)

U16 Regional Final! Stroke Seat
SO SO PROUD. We won!! During our time trial we got 2nd, but we pulled off a great race and beat Rose City who were our top competition. They had a faster start, but we walked on them in the middle and we were neck and neck (at least felt like it). At the end, I decided we needed to sprint a bit earlier and it felt right, so I upped the stroke rate. We were able to get ahead by a good margin and we won by 6 seconds!! U16 Northwest Champions!!

Friday May 17 #

Rowing 58:43 [4] 6.62 km (8:52 / km)

U16 Time trial - 7:52 (100m build, 1900m race)
This race doesn’t lead to anything since there were only 4 boats in the category. If there were 6+, then the results would either put you in Final A or Final B.
As a whole, we were 5 seconds off of 1st, and we think we could’ve pressed harder to get first. The wind is looking bad for the final tomorrow but hopefully we can work through it.
I had to help my coxswain out a bit too. Our meters on the coxbox were wrong so when I saw the beach in the corner of my eye (close to the finish), I started the sprint because otherwise we would not of sprinted.
I’m excited for the finals tomorrow! I’m racing in Novice A at 11:30 and 5:12 for U16
Novice A competition looks very tough but we got this
