Orienteering race 1:15:00 [5] 9.0 km (8:20 / km)

SilvaLeague Middle. 43, 5.1k. Bit of a bad day. Miles behind and didnt have any speed about any part of my orienteering (except the first 4 controls in the easy stuff). Felt like a 90 year old "running" on the rocks and really struggled to read/understand the detail in this terrain. Unfortunately left the event feeling not very positive at all about my orienteering.

Orienteering race 1:30:00 [5] 10.5 km (8:34 / km)

Decided to get some extra practice in and do the non silva league comp on the friday. Think I need to race as much as I can to get better. Tough terrain for me and spent about the first half of the course getting in to it with a few mistakes and direction wabbles but was super happy with my second half or so coming back. Ran 21kort and came 3rd so nice to have a bit of an unreasonable confidence boost!

Sprint Orienteering race 50:00 [5] 8.0 km (6:15 / km)

Sprint in Kumla. Pretty fun. Decent result for me in a sprint but probably because its easier to be competitive in them at this stage.
Talk of the course was the water jump near the end. Pretty stressfull being spat out of a run through in the middle of a heap of spectators and then seeing this lake in front of you where they wanted you to jump in the side. Was easy to see on the map you were allowed to cross but it seemed a bit outrageous and definitely not the quickest option when you where approaching. Think I hesitated less than most before jumping in (80cm deep I think they advertised?). A lot of people lost quite a lot of time from going/trying to go around! Good fun!

Easy around Safjallet and back. Awesome training conditions. I wore a singlet running today. Felt ok after the weekend. Need a pretty decent stretch session tonight though.

Orienteering race 2:05:00 [5] 18.5 km (6:45 / km)

Tiomila last leg. 1.42. Pretty stable sort of race for me. Felt like I was really clean apart from a few little things in the circle. Happy with my compass work in the vaguer areas and route choice selection. Unfortunately never really felt fast at any point and didnt get any opportunities to run with anybody who was much faster. But I think I was pretty smooth because thinking back on the race now I cant recall any points where I actually stopped running except to get a drink. Was also hard to tell whether I was overtaking people I was seeing or not. Also got to run one control with Maja Alm which I enjoyed a fair bit! Think it was a big improvement on last weekend. If you take out a little bit for my mistakes then I actually think Im only 10-15 behind some really good guys so pretty happy with that after 16k. Had a great weekend too. One time I want to run first or second or something so I can just stay up all night and watch!

Fairly happy with the splits actually. Lost time on 1, 12, 18 (same control as 12 in the butterfly!!!), 23, and 28.
