Research (Writing) 4:00:00 [3]
shoes: Finite sampling

Includes a few new derivations as well. Excruciatingly slow, but also tantalizingly close. If I didn't have to work for a living, I think I could finish this in a few days. Seeing as how I do have to work for a living, we are probably still a couple weeks out. Maybe more.

Research (Research) 4:00:00 [3]
shoes: Finite sampling

Re-visited the hit rate variance using the proper covariance term.

Research (Writing) 4:00:00 [4]
shoes: Finite sampling

I usually don't use intensity 4 for writing, but this was a combination of writing and proving, as well as working through some notation issues, so it was a fairly draining (and productive) session.

Research (Writing) 1:00:00 [3]
shoes: Finite sampling

Didn't get my usual Friday afternoon block as work kept me at work. Did some editing in the evening, but basically decided a good night's sleep would be the best prep for a big session tomorrow.

Research (Research) 30:00 [1]
shoes: Finite sampling

Pretty much a lost day. Got a little bit of thinking done before work started, but didn't have any motivation to work in the evening.

Research (Research) 1:00:00 [2]
shoes: Finite sampling

Some less than productive poking at the general sampler.

Research ( Collaboration) 30:00 [3]
shoes: Finite sampling

Met with my adviser. He's still on board with the approach. Need to finish before he changes his mind.

Research (Writing) 1:30:00 [2]
shoes: Finite sampling

Cleaning up some of my work from yesterday. Also, a little independent reading.

Monday Mar 19, 2018 #

Research (Research) 2:30:00 [3]
shoes: Finite sampling

Deriving the exact block variance accounting for the partition lengths.

Research (Writing) 1:30:00 [3]

Writing it up, which was tedious to say the least since there are a million subscripts to keep straight.
