walking 24:00 [1] 1.2 km (20:00 / km)

afternoon walk, still pretty warm so we are staying in the shade - wandered down to the parkway & over to the bikepath then up to the rocks to meet dogs - met Bao the Chow & Cookie the white mop, then Ugo came along (a 3 mo. bulldog-mastiff cross as big as G already) - G likes the first two dogs but doesnt know what to do w Ugo- he just walks over her, she goes flying, she does a submission display which again he just tromples on & then lays on her and licks her in the most offensively friendly fashion possible, then when she tries to get away he chews her hind legs; its so nice to see her getting some of her "I'm socially oblivious" medicine back, heheheh... then Ugo started trying to lay some of that on Cookie, she took off like an arrow into the road & Ugo after her & the owners hollering after both of them, so I sat there laughing hahahaha, then I look around & MY dog is sneaking off in the opposite direction towards the woods to escape Ugo also, so then I have to run off hollering into the woods. ahahaha. So don't laugh too soon is the moral of that story, check YOUR dog first. Luckily G was too hot to move fast, all she wanted to do was not be near Ugo anymore...

Yellow Dog Yoga 20:00 [1]

to pass the time & distract myself while doing home infusion I worked thru the first 6 pp of my Yoga for Glands book from sis-in-law - face & neck things, surprisingly challenging co-ordination of movement & breathing.

walking 48:00 [1] 2.4 km (20:00 / km)

morning walk, started out perfectly gorgeous but then the girl & the dog both became hot & a bit cranky by the end of it. Met a white mop, two pom's, assorted other dogs, & Tyson & Hendrix. No-one at the dog-park. A wedding party at Mayfair when we got back, so cute, all pink ribbons & pompoms on the white cars! Delicious squishy-kibbles & an iced latte when we got back.
BBQ today - decided on spicey italian sausages sliced in half lengthwise and then skewered with chunks of blanched onion & figs soaked in sherry (in a sort of woven-rug look - triple skewers as the um warp & sausages as woof or whatever, and the scrumptious bits all in between), very mediterranean. And naan. Very...middle-eastern. Got some funky long skinny tomatoes from SPUD plus a zucchini which I will slice longwise and grill too, sesame seed oil & mesquite shaker, maybe... along w the BBQ Banana Split of course...

walking 10:00 [1] 0.5 km (20:00 / km)

additional wandering at the park to pick a place for the BBQ, fun to see everyone out w frisbees, kids in the playground, volleyballers, tennis courts full, dogs running around trying to eat sausages...stayed out almost to sunset.

slept:8.5

slept well, yay! listened to most of the 64446 concert from Hyde Park last night, very interesting. D enjoyed Critical Mass ride, lost his voice, is that funny or what!?
for BBQ this weekend I've invented the BBQ'ed Banana Split - brush 3 peeled bananas (for 2 people) w toasted sesame oil, toss on grill to see if they stick. After a bit, slice longwise and pop onto two sesame-oiled & brown-sugared tinfoils, close, & bake gently on the side for a bit. Then top w one organic Denman's chocolate bar previously processed as follows - melt, mix w a Tb of butter, split & form into (1) tiny frozen logs of chocolate-butter swirled w chunky peanutbutter (2) frozen chocolate-butter coins caked on top w toasted walnut bits. Dennis said he couldnt decide which would be better w/out actually tasting them....uh-huh...(in case that seems like a lotta work, yer not getting it - its just an excuse to smear chocolate all over the kitchen and then...uh, Gypsy can lick it up, yeah...)
The bananasplit reference comes from the banana of course, but also the state-changes induced by juxtaposition of hot & cold elements - stuff melts and melds deliciously in both cases...theoretically at least.

walking 20:00 [1] 1.0 km (20:00 / km)

inordinately gorgeous today when I walked over to grocery for a few bits & pieces. dog-walk around 4pm, pretty hot, dog lazy, went via shade to rocks and visited with Weezy & Abby, met Shelly coming out of the building when we went back inside....

Friday Jun 27, 2008 #

Note

so this morning the fever & aches are gone, tummy still sore. whut-thuh ? gonna take it easy. D ordered in chinese last night so will partake cautiously of that, he is gonna try for the Critical Mass biking event downtown after work despite his raging allergies. I am gonna reread Fellowship of the Ring. oof.

walking 14:00 [1] 0.7 km (20:00 / km)

and...heeeere's my taper...
gorgeous sun, so we took the chair, the dog, kibbles, water, book, shades, & hat, & toddled gently (tummy still a bit sore) over to the forest meadow by the old resort, sat there for about an hour then moved for another hour to the grass & rocks at the end of the cul-de-sac (less isolated so more dogs) & played w Dallice, Tiffie, & G's Sheltie friend.

Practicing furoshiki folding this lovely afternoon. Got a CD & a paperback looking nice, a rather mutant empty vinegar bottle (perhaps the furoshiki is too small?), and am theoretically very pleased with the double-bottle fold, looks like that one may be the charismatic rock-star of the furoshiki folds....

walking 8:00 [1] 0.4 km (20:00 / km)

evening walk as well, lovely & fresh.

Thursday Jun 26, 2008 #

Yellow Dog Yoga 20:00 [1]

did the whole RoM, rem strength, & a few bits of real yoga. Floor stuff. Grey day. Now we shall go walk around the neighborhood, & then we shall have tea, & then we shall put tofu & snow peas & red peppers into coconut milk (& probably some other stuff), plus we shall cut up a cold mango & an orange so they can get to know each other better in a white bowl.

walking 30:00 [1] 1.5 km (20:00 / km)

nice walk down to the parkway, across & thru the woods & back up the creek & home - last 10 minutes I felt hideous, like passing out - got home drank some OJ, got a really sore tummy, developed a nice sturdy fever, body aches, racing pulse, & a pounding headache, and that was it for me for Thursday. whoa.

Wednesday Jun 25, 2008 #

Yellow Dog Yoga 20:00 [1]

RoM, remedial strength, a bit of a nod in the general direction of some yoga asanas...
experimented w remainder of sun-dried tomato pasta, well, a small ball of it - actually sat down to read instructions, it said dough s/b dry for the dies to cut properly - so I kept working flour in & trying it, then lo & behold! suddenly instead of a flabby slab w spagetti imprinted on it, out fell SPAGETTI, which I promptly boiled and ate, yum!
rest of pasta sheets are now drying on counter, I will hand-cut it for curried singaporese noodles w tofu tonight, carrots N squash N stuff, mango & cucumber salad, & a bit of the rhubarb cobbler to finish.

walking 48:00 [1] 2.4 km (20:00 / km)

spent an hour & half digging molehills, messing in creeks, & scouting picnic table over in the other park - D says he may take a day off this weekend so we can have a picnic BBQ, kaloo kalay ! It's gonna be hot too, finally, so it'll be nice to sit around all afternoon reading in the shade... tea, CBC Disc Drive, & BBQ research.

walking 8:00 [1] 0.4 km (20:00 / km)

evening walk as well - met Mog & Cookie & played w both. lotsa helicopter action.

Tuesday Jun 24, 2008 #

Note

classic spring/early summer menu (hm, salmon isnt quite spring really...but) miso-marinated salmon, baby potatoes possibly w lemon butter, skinny asparagus very plain, experimental grilled nectarine shortcakes w honey-cinnamon butter, & a rhubarb-strawberry cobbler (cuz the shortcake is the same recipe as the cobble-top) as back-up.
I have a theory that when I babble about my food experiments I am experiencing more energy...

walking 52:00 [1] 2.6 km (20:00 / km)

train stn & downtown - p/u gam at St Pauls, mail stuff, drop off taxes, tea w/ Steve, actually we ate kolachy from the kiosk in Bentall, I've been wanting to try them for a long time, yum! (1.4km)
then dogwalk (1.2km) in the cool forest - took it slow & easy w/ rests in the shady grass, tried to keep walk a bit shorter to see how her energy is - seems just fine outside, then inside she just falls asleep - maybe she's growing up in her attitudes, & the "den" is just for sleeping? appetite is good, digestion normal, affection such as it is seems normal...

Monday Jun 23, 2008 #

Note

woke up w/ no aches... hope that continues...was it a low-symptom virus, maybe, aches & no energy? I'm good that it's byebye whatever it was. Gonna try to make sun-dried-tomato pasta today. I have a feeling it will turn out to be gross mud-brown pasta, hmmm...maybe tomato paste instead, but what do I do with these unpleasantly unco-operative non-oil sundried tomatoes then?

walking 50:00 [1] 2.5 km (20:00 / km)

feet a teensy bit tired, but energy excellent! back from bro-in-law's via train stn, then down thru the cool woods (watching G-dog's energy levels too, seems much better today) & back up, gorgeous w bits of brilliant sunshine, drifts of ranunculus, peeked around a tree & saw this insane prehistoric-looking woodpecker (seen & logged it before too lazy to look up name) prying things from a fallen tree-branch & vocalizing to itself in indescribably exotic gutteral woodpeckerese. G was nonplussed, completely undone by this, she just stood there in amazement as this dinosaur-looking thing bashed the branch apart. Me too. we woulda been totally dead if it was a velociraptor.

Sunday Jun 22, 2008 #

walking 34:00 [1] 1.7 km (20:00 / km)

went out for a Sunday afternoon in the park; G was alarmingly sluggish coming home, almost not just reluctant but tired?! It is getting warmer. She played w Jack in the park, & Coalie when we came home. She DID kinda wanna play at the end and didnt lapse into a coma immediately upon arriving home so it isnt super bad, but I do have to stay alert to the possibility of real tiredness/heat reactions, I am so used to her being a Big Fake. How to diagnose it is gonna be a bit tricky...
Greek food & Kung-Fu Panda, both good. Finished '06 pkg for Gord, yahoooo!

Saturday Jun 21, 2008 #

walking 24:00 [1] 1.2 km (20:00 / km)

BENCHMARK - first humira injection. altho there is a cute lil log they give you, I'll put it in here too. Overall, I'd say things are pretty good ache-wise - feet & knees are not misbehaving too bad (altho w the reduction in centralized pain in R foot, I can feel the erosion assoc. w big toe joint.) I do wake up several times each night w Lotsa groany pain - I'm imagining I am sleeping deeply & not wiggling, so I "freeze up". I have terribly low energy tho, hope this improves. Having some trouble with socks. R knee gait problem resolving now I am attending to it.
Today was relaxing, made a ricotta-blueberry thing to use up ricotta which was pretty tasty, for brunchyness. Then I finished 05 back-taxes for Gord, & celebrated by doing about 2 hours of gardening - bathed violets, potted a geranium & a tomato, re-vamped the patio plantings & cleaned up the bamboo sheddings, transplanted a mikey-plant into one of the shade boxes, potted the jerusalem artichoke forward one pot size...very satisfying. D is reviewing his sailing book in prep for his refresher in two weeks.
Then G & I went for a walk down the woodland paths along the creek, & back up, not very far, but pretty, played w Duri & Diesel, two dogs we never met before. (yeah, seems like energy is coming back, thats the only reason I actually did the humira, hope it keeps coming back is the main point, heheheh)

Friday Jun 20, 2008 #

walking 28:00 [1] 1.4 km (20:00 / km)

well, this bizarre warm weather has just pooped us right out! Met Wilbur, Sibyl, Marco, and Lady, as well as Shane the park-guy. kinda overcast but muggy & the warmest its been all year. Down thru the woods & around Ledgestone, over to Taylor to play w Marco for a few seconds, then home up the hill dragging our butts. Changed evening meal to couscous salad, goat cheese & corn crackers, & chilled strawberries, as it is a cooler meal & less work. Still feeling a bit unwell, just wait & see...

urk. Now THIS Skanky Week is basically over insofar as estate meeting is complete, new kitchen floor is installed (I love my new tile floor so much that I could spend a day or two just laying on it and kissing it, but I wont. I'll never admit it, but it probably looks like nice linoleum, in MY mind however, it is a visual reference to ancient italian patios paved with antique travertine cobbles, makes me feel like a barefoot Mediterranean maiden wizarding up great meals, yah!) and monster medical training is successfully completed. Now I am just limp jelly even after 9.5 hours of rather good sleep. And I have a wicked headache, how does that work?! The fridge is still stumpily residing in the livingroom but I'm fine with that. Perhaps I'll do some nice restorative tax prep the rest of this morning...
szechuan tofu for dinner. well, depending on what's in the fridge, I've kinda forgotten over the last few days of eating out as the various tile-goo's cured...

walking 36:00 [1] 1.8 km (20:00 / km)

spitting rain along w blue sky & wind; up to corner groc, down the outside of Cortina, sat in the park & read for a bit, around the base of Taylor, home up the hill. Found the inside of a roll of duct tape and played with that, watched the window-washer guy for a while, plus goggled at a trio of border collies for a while. Thats alotta border collies... felt pretty good actually, energy coming back? headache gone. lotsa mopping/wet-dusting to p/u all the reno dust.

Yellow Dog Yoga 15:00 [1]

felt nasty in the afternoon so laid on the bed, then decided I might as well do some feeble yoga/RoM - ankles, fingers, knees, locust, feeble bridge & twist...lotta breathing, some remedial strength on my arms. felt better after. yay!

Wednesday Jun 18, 2008 #

walking 50:00 [1] 2.5 km (20:00 / km)

train stn for training at St Paul's for home infusion w Dennis - he was so awesome that we graduated the program after our second session & we are now one of 18 patients able to perform this procedure in BC, my husband rocks!!
Then I did the afternoon walk over to Taylor along the country walk behind Cortina, sat in the red adirondack chair sculptures in the sun, & home along the Via Dolorosa, better known as the Path of Tugging Small Grumpy Dogs That Don't Want to Go Home.

Tuesday Jun 17, 2008 #

walking 18:00 [1] 0.9 km (20:00 / km)

short walk over to the ravine so we could come back and let the tile guy out of the apt. Kitchen floor looks pretty cool!

walking 26:00 [1] 1.3 km (20:00 / km)

evening walk w Su-Jane & Shelly, it was Big Fun!! we stayed out till it got dark, and while we arent Finland, thats still pretty late!

Monday Jun 16, 2008 #

walking 52:00 [1] 2.6 km (20:00 / km)

quick trip DT on the train to bank after the kitchen tiles got pried/jack-hammered up.
sunny! over to the shady bikepath, ran into Shelly & Fred, walked around with them to the park and back.
spicey thai tofu w basil & cashews....icey cold juicey canteloupe.

Sunday Jun 15, 2008 #

walking 44:00 [1] 2.2 km (20:00 / km)

little grocery trip up to Highgate via the train station. Then over to Taylor to sit in the sun, read, & watch the picnic'ers w G-dog for two hours.
Went down to a new place called the Wok Box for sunday dinner-date - neat idea of design yer own mixNmatch asian meals, but I was not crazy about how they do the tofu, incredibly tough, ie deep-fried to make it more like meat, for westerners. Also prices were high. After we went for ice-cream - vanilla w raspberries, yum...

Saturday Jun 14, 2008 #

walking 16:00 [1] 0.8 km (20:00 / km)

dimsum at new place & quest for patio lanterns which I've been yearning for for over a year (I figure its for real if I still want them after a year). For $16 we found (not exactly what I initially had in mind) a very cool string of solar-powered pink & gold LED butterflies that flash like fireflies in the bamboo, so cool, and they charge during the day w their very own little solar panel! So cool!
short staggery dozey walk thru the cool woods, met another shiba named Kenji, sat in the woods halfway down stairmaster. Then off to Alfie's for father's day dinner.

Friday Jun 13, 2008 #

Note

OK, this skanko week is essentially over... got my gorgeous new gold crown installed, estate seems under control, prepped for reno next week... now what? finish taxes...embroidery? macro photography? furoshiki? stencil patio wall?

walking 20:00 [1] 1.0 km (20:00 / km)

train stn, dentist.

core/upper - horsing about 10:00 [1]

dog-rasslin & sit-ups

walking 28:00 [1] 1.4 km (20:00 / km)

down the top of stairmaster, got hot, took off one coat. Over to park, sat in sun, sun went away, put coat back on. Back home around the school, annoying further visit to The Secret Poo Place at the end of the block cuz normal lawns arent good enuf, what a monster we have created.
Tofu & spicey peanut noodles, canteloupe & strawberries....

Thursday Jun 12, 2008 #

walking 32:00 [1] 1.6 km (20:00 / km)

over to bro-in-law's to work on estate. Lawyer is of the opinion that I am a gold-diggin', interferin', beneficiary's blonde-bitch-wife. My my, appearances can be deceiving....

walking 16:00 [1] 0.8 km (20:00 / km)

had a half-litre of Coke & some chocolate for lunch - while this was fun & had interesting physiological side-effects, overall, I'd say it qualifies as a Big Mistake. Twitched & jittered around the sunshiney neighborhood w Dog, retrieved tomato seedling from grocery where I'd forgot it on way home, sat w Blue, Sugar, & Nicky for a bit.
Duck breast (bought originally for dog's snax, but since petstore now sells duck jerky no need to make any for Precious Princess Dog) with a (restrained) cherry sauce for husband's dinner, scrumptious vegan oven stuffing to go with...havent thought what else tho, hmmmm...

walking 10:00 [1] 0.5 km (20:00 / km)

evening walk as well, as D biked to work today & plans for Friday as well - played w both Whistler & Kelli so it was A Great Day.

Wednesday Jun 11, 2008 #

walking 52:00 [1] 2.6 km (20:00 / km)

train stn DT for training on gross new self-poke procedure, I know diabetics do it every day, but yuckola. But, I did the first lesson & I'm good on it, then I rewarded myself by a walk w a latte at Canada Place looking at the cruise-ships cuz I love cruise ships. except not quite so much since we went on our mini-cruise, huh, maybe the bloom is off...
then a nice cool dog-walk thru the woods - met Marco & Buddy but they wouldnt play w the G-dog cuz they were playing w each other ! Whuh !!?
bacon-bean soup w veg & noodles, hummous, crackerbread, mango salad, various vegies, cheese, for dinner, plus a bit of the fabulous chocolate banana pudding, yum!

Tuesday Jun 10, 2008 #

Note

feeling pretty excellent today, yahhhoooo! I am gonna try an expt I never dared before - ma por as a vegetarian dish - ie , no pork!! this is gonna be hard, I think, cuz the pork fat really participates (having had beef ma por at restaurants... it's not the same) in giving the key richness of flavour and great mouth feel..but I am gonna slide some toasted sesame oil in, and roast some mushrooms for the um whats that japanese savory flavor... and we'll see how it goes. of course, oyster sauce is one of the main ingredients, and who knows what is in there...not oysters probably, hahaha!
so... toban jian for heat, oyster sauce, garlic, sesame oil & roasted mushrooms for richness & umami/meatiness... tofu, snow peas, red & green pepper, scallion, maybe spinach....

walking 38:00 [1] 1.9 km (20:00 / km)

over to Taylor (one cookie, one dead crow), around Cortina (one dead crow), up by the train stn, met Nicki & Odin, down the creekside bikepath, met Tut & Tylor, & home for tea. Cool overcast, very nice.

Monday Jun 9, 2008 #

Note
slept:9.0

so yesterday sucked bizarrely, hurt so bad, really tired & mildly nauseated, gah!
even w that, had nice (tax) visit w friends to finalize their back-filings, went to see Ironman (surprisingly good) & ate a real nice meal at a casino over towards PoCo, also surprising. Then stayed in bed for 11 hours, feel somewhat better today. Did I forget Saturday's med or sumthin?!
Needless to say, as I couldnt really even walk, there was no exercise to log for yesterday. Thank goodness for nice husbands who walk the dog, suggest movies, & buy yummy salads & soups (& cheesecakes) for one at the drop of a hat...

walking 18:00 [1] 0.9 km (20:00 / km)

monsoon, so we only stayed out for half an hour - good for my reduced energy levels too, altho as always felt better out in fresh air.
simple spinach-mushroom-tomato-feta pizza (WW) on new pizza stone, corn on the cob, strawberries, maybe some watermelon....maybe some baby tomatoes...
lot less pain today, still very weak & a bit nauseated, oh well.

Sunday Jun 8, 2008 #

Note

yow. R hip is sure messing w me...& R foot. But I could SMELL the coffee this morning, yum!!! & I got hi hopes I can coax hip to be happier as it does feel like muscle spasms are a big part of this - put on my fleece pants as the cold exacerbates the spasming thang. I LOVE my fleece pants. I wish they had elegant eveningwear made out of fleece.

Saturday Jun 7, 2008 #

walking 32:00 [1] 1.6 km (20:00 / km)

library, and tres petit afternoon walk w/ lotsa dogs & excitement & exercise for G-dog - they just kept on popping out & wanting to play! Kelly, Casper, & her mom Shelly. Then we ate an apple by the gate & watched D mess w his new bike seat.
Lemon-mint-lamb meatballs for dinner, couscous w almonds & raisins & apricots, carrots, peas, mango....
read Eat Pray Love - it was OK.

Friday Jun 6, 2008 #

Note

trying for a real dentist appt today, not an imaginary one. I think I actually enjoyed the imaginary one yesterday a bit more as it did not involve injections or buzzing...
Curried roast squash soup w ginger & pear (there's that bill L again, cooking with pears) and...uh, sumthin, I forgot, some couscous salad w ref.s to greek salad I think. Or maybe I'll make it hot as the weather is still pretty cold & dark. June?! hello!?

walking 56:00 [1] 2.8 km (20:00 / km)

train stn etc for dental appt, no needles, yay, cuz I am tough (or, I hate dental anesthetic so much I'm willing to try many procedures without it), then afternoon walk, felt really weak & super-cr*ppy, but better afterward which is often the case. Wore two coats - as predicted, this made the sun appear. Met Happy, & some little vicious white mop which loves G-dog for some reason - they played together til they were too hot. Then evening walk as well, met the ducktollers which made G's day totally, Nina blasted her off her feet by way of greeting, which is why G loves her so much.
chopped up a bunch of Really Completely Unacceptable mulch-like organic apples ("they're organic, so I can sell you sludge." huh??) into the Best-Bar-None apple crumble I have ever made. YUM. (at least part of the secret was to cook the apples twice, once on the stove top in a pot, easier than it sounds, just huck 'em into the gently steaming pot as you cut 'em up, then add some sugar, cap the pot & turn it off, and take the dog for a walk) Perhaps they were cooking galas, not hand apples...

Thursday Jun 5, 2008 #

walking 38:00 [1] 1.9 km (20:00 / km)

same route as yesterday, w Keith in tow. Raining pretty good, G was glad to get home, cracked K up by stopping stock-still like a statue in the hall waiting to get her Precious Self towelled off. R hip is messed up - feels like muscle spasms...
Japanese food tonight followed by family pow-wow & Indiana Jones at Metropolis, with D & Alf.

walking 16:00 [1] 0.8 km (20:00 / km)

over to train & wandering at Metropolis. Bought a bread stone at a "we're selling stuff that fell off the back of a truck" kind of place - $10 total w tax! Japanese place was Cr*p, must remember not to go back....movie was fun tho, last of our birthday celebrations. probably.

Wednesday Jun 4, 2008 #

walking 38:00 [1] 1.9 km (20:00 / km)

dark, dark, dreary overcast, but we went for a nice walk anyhow down the first bit of stairmaster, then around Ledgestone & Green, did the parkway, cut back home thru some of the townhousey-things... then I trotted over to groc for a litre of sprite to mix more of those gorgeous ruby-colored loganberry spritzers for dinner - along w roasted squash N walnut ravioli tossed w olive oil & basil, a treasure-trove of stilton cheese, & a monster stir-fry. Vegetarianism rules!!
finished Walden, got all the goodness he had to offer, but it is not a keeper. Halfway thru a short thing on geology of Joshua Tree, which I love. May try next for some on-line Melville about life among the South Pacific islanders...

walking 9:00 [1] 0.3 km (30:00 / km)

forgot teensy evening walk upon which we met Shelly, Tisha, Leo, Marco, the Lab Twins, Lola, & Jack. G was pretty happy, she added another km or so running in circles on the lawn before we went back inside.

Tuesday Jun 3, 2008 #

walking 30:00 [1] 1.5 km (20:00 / km)

sturdy rain that made us decide not to go too far - over to Taylor Park & home, basically. Met Kelli but did not want to play. Got so soggy that a unilateral decision of "lets stay here under the eaves of the outhouse until it gets sunny & warm" was attempted...just one more reason why my dog isn't a member of any economic (or other) think-tanks. Tea, disc-drive, & a salad & a pasta both containing bacon for dinner. Plus avocado, snow peas, scallions, tomatoes, fresh basil, homemade WW linguine, it's not ALL hi-cholesterol funNgames...

Note

um, AP is lookin' very weird to me... anyhow, after Alf & me & his new copper-mica miata sorted the tile store out we went for dimsum at a great new place really close to home, so I wanted to check their hours which were hand-written in chinese on the door (the #'s are pan-lingual, ie I COULD read the 9-3, 5-11 parts), so I asked Uncle Sammy's girlfriend (who is a chinese opera star, apparently) what the sign said. So she carefully read out the hours to me. I said thank you, oh, & what does this part mean (the bit in chinese characters) which it turns out says seven days a week (excellent! can you say Dennis N Beth eat dimsum on Sunday?) - Alf & me walk over to the car & then I say to him "um, uncle sammy's girlfriend thinks yer loser-kid married a illiterate white chick who can't read numbers". He thought that was pretty hilarious.

Yellow Dog Yoga 30:00 [1]

cunningly took a nice hot shower before, then did a good solid half hour to check all joints, worked on L elbow a bit, knees cranky, all RoM, remedial strength, bits of yoga, prayer sequence, Excellent analgesic kick-in, then I squished some super-stenchy gorgonzola onto two chunks of toasted homemade bread for lunch, yum!
oh, & I finally did the Kiva loans, finally, $50 for Maria in Peru for calf-housing, & $50 for Bridget in Nigeria for her teensy food store. So now D is supporting three women, one princess dog, and two kids (Wycliff in Kenya, & Samina in Nepal) - what a collection!

walking 58:00 [1] 2.9 km (20:00 / km)

early afternoon walk down the creek further than Ledgestone, & then back again, thru the woods, very pretty, dense foliage. Then downtown on the train for infusion, maybe the last one at St Paul's!
looked over Humira stuff, decided on preliminary basis when to start.

core/upper - horsing about 5:00 [1]

got home late so we went out for thai & DQ, then when we got home from that D & I whumped G a bit w the Blue Mouse & Mr. Lobster to make up for the sadness, despair, & loneliness of not having us around....yeah, right...

Sunday Jun 1, 2008 #

walking 50:00 [1] 2.5 km (20:00 / km)

afternoon walk meandering around over at the corner grocery waiting for D to come home from library, going over to the station to watch trains roar in & out (hohum, G-dog says, she is well-adapted to both country- & urban-type jungles), met Happy who just had a $69 annual shampoo & haircut & boy did he look fabulous. Lotsa families biking in for a Sunday ice-cream break - nice positioning on the bike path.
Then we went over to Metropolis for thai food & the Narnia movie which was quite good, but they stuck in a lot more military battles than the book had, I guess they felt modern audiences only get militarily framed conflict?
weather is dark & cool/cold, nnnghnnh...
