rhr:60 slept:8.5 weight:63.6kg (injured) (rest day)

Today my right hip & right shoulder were really annoyed, so I spent the day on an icing schedule - even figured out how to shape the packs so they fit around the two joints! Smoked salmon chowder for dinner - tried a different style based on white wine rather than milk, with lemon peel and fresh dill - there is potential there. One glass of water.

lotsa rain - walked back & forth between train station a few times, and did a kilometer downtown from train to hospital. Noodle dinner at a japanese hol-in the wall - satisfying but not O-food. Three glasses of water - needed to be well-hydated.

walking 10:00 [1] 0.5 km (20:00 / km)
rhr:60 slept:8.5 weight:62.6kg (injured)

Kind of a rest day, just a quick walk in the pouring rain (ha ! the party's over, Vancouver!) around the neighborhood, left knee grumpy & right hip hurting - which way shall I limp? Exciting mail today - got info for Samina, our second Foster Plan kid from Nepal, so now I get to learn about Nepal! Regarding O-food, we are meandering back towards goodness - the last bit of yummy General Cho's spicey chicken takeout will be reheated, but we shall put it onto organic brown rice, & the main course shall be Thai fine-sliced pork with snow peas, organic broccoli & onion slices, & decorative carrot bits, and um, something raw on the side for additional decoration & general digestive virtue. I am annoyed with how the Thai basil behaves in my dishes, so I am gonna try doing it in a chiffonade with the cilantro & see if that is more satisfactory. 2.5 glasses water.

walking 20:00 [1] 1.0 km (20:00 / km)
rhr:60 slept:7.0 weight:62.6kg (injured)

Kinda draggy cuz of sleep, but in the afternoon took a walk, and went downtown to have coffee with Steve, price printer cartridges, & get back the lil container etc I gave him antipasto in. one glass of water ! Orderd chinese in - we aren't doing well on the O-food this week.

walking 45:00 [1] 2.0 km (22:30 / km)
rhr:56 slept:8.5 weight:62kg (injured)

Meandered all over the place - library, groceries, pumpkin spice latte, bank, and then an aborted attempt to go to Richmond for dinner - halloween spirits mangled traffic so none of the required buses came for half an hour, so D got to go to McD's by himself instead of chinese. Then the skytrain escalator crashed while I was on it, and finally for #3 halloween transport failure the elevator was dead when I got home. A few fireworks visible, not as many as last year, & I experimented with the homemade pasta which we froze - it behaved quite well when I dumped it into fiercely boiling water. Right hip muscles got all quivery and whimpy after my long walk, don't want to work, which is odd new response on the part of a hip. arggghhh.

walking 30:00 [1] 1.5 km (20:00 / km)
rhr:56 slept:8.5 weight:62kg (injured)

Lotsa walking along ferry terminals and in Victoria to get to Dallas Drive, beautiful sunny day! Saw about 15 to 20 sealions (probably) in Active Pass messing with fish, and four black feral rabbits. Does that mean that Halloween is soon? Dinner is Tsawassen at a covert Indian rstaurant. Yum. Not really O-food though. Only 1.5 glasses water.

Huge windstorm last night & this AM, crazy changeable weather. Went dog-walking with Keith, Dennis, and Oscar-the-Dog. It was fun. Then in the afternoon we went to Belcarra & Buntzen Lake in feeble afternoon sunlight & cold temperatures to look at canoeing sites for next summer, & D did some photography. Varied thrushes are out in force on the roadsides for some reason. Skedaddled home with early timechanged sunset to make enchilada casserole with yummy vegan chili & organic corn tortillas, and a side of squash reheated from last night, cherry tomatoes & raw snow peas for pretty beside. 1.5 glasses water, off to Victoria tomorrow AM early!
