swimming 17:00 [1]
rhr:62 slept:7.5 weight:62.4kg (injured)

went swimming today, pool is still freezing, I might ask the strata to bring it up 2 or 3 degrees as a compromise between recreational & lap swimmers. But I'm getting more used to it even tho I feel like I might get a heart attack when I get in. And some range of motion/weightless yoga in the hot-tub before & after. I do feel GOOOOD after I swim - endorphins? Hardly any pain anywhere, and hips seem to be co-operating! O-food - well, we are being a bit wicked tonight since my white-trash menu only has subtle virtuous references - smothered chicken N "greens" (from the days when only milk & flour, & a few spices were available in the kitchen-very reminiscent of the Colonel's chicken actually, but that has its roots in white trash cookin' too) w/ baked organic squash & organic brown rice for the touch of fibre & digestive virtue...kiwis N globe grapes for dessert. Three glasses of water.

Note
rhr:56 slept:8.5 weight:62.6kg (injured) (rest day)

second rest day already a bit annoying but I will do it - fortuitously, hip seems to be responding well, sometimes it doesnt for days on end. Luckily it is REALLY rainy/stormy so I am less annoyed than I might be. O-food will be a salad with an asian-styled dressing & toasted organic pumpkin seeds, corned beef (entered crockpot 10am) baked potatoes w/ non-fat sourcream and scallions, & a stirfry to be determined. How about this one...you know you may be eligible for a hip replacement when suddenly it starts to look like a brilliant soluion rather than an indescribably disgusting bodily invasion & compromise.

YDY 10:00 [1]
(injured)

was bored so did ten minutes of range of motion before my shower...

rhr:54 slept:8.0 weight:62.4kg (injured) (rest day)

First rest day...misty sun on luminous golden trees as far as I can see south into Richmond makes me want to go out and walk, but I will stay still & watch the planes take off from airport, do music lesson 8, watch a Josephine Baker movie from 1934, and maybe finsh Thackeray's Vanity Fair, 671 pages of tiny type has kept me busy for the last few days. O-food will be vegan minestrone soup with garbanzos & crazy pasta shapes - I'm gonna make a rosemary-cracked pepper rye flatbread to go with an artichoke dip to be constructed from vague taste-bud memory - diced artichokes, pureed white beans...parmesan...fancy seasalt just cuz I can... some non-fat sour cream? hmmm... will hydrate and ice my hip to the max allowed. No tylenol, I wanna know what is happening.

walking 45:00 [1] 1.8 km (25:00 / km)
rhr:58 slept:8.0 weight:62.6kg (injured)

oops. now my hip is really annoyed. Maybe we will really rest it over the next few days - I was interested to see if I could beat it up and get into a new zone of pain-management, but that time is not yet, I will cave in and get the icepaks & tylenol out again. Walked over to the New West IGA, & They Don't Have the sweetened tart shells I wanted! oh well, maybe later. O-food is simple tonight, but triedNtrue - WW homemade pizza crust topped with vegetarian goodness - beautifull fresh organic tomatoes, thin slices of zucchini & pepper, mushrooms, and a soupcon of organic mozzarella & the last bit of goat's feta, yum. 1.5 glasses of water today along with one big tylenol, yum. Jurgen Goethe is being particularly brilliant & lyrical this afternoon with his programming, or is it just my endorphins? PS Wow ! I cracked Lesson Seven in Music Ace today!

walking 20:00 [1] 1.0 km (20:00 / km)
rhr:62 slept:8.0 weight:62.2kg (injured)

hip still kinda achey but maybe it is improving. or maybe not. gardened today -planting bulbs for spring- and walked around neighborhood with Dennis in the sunshine as he took the day off. O-food was greeted enthusiatically - giant fruit salad of mango, red flame grapes & a single monster kiwi, gai lan (back in season) slightly over-cooked (arrgghh) with traditional oyster sauce, & a ground-almond based indonesion chickenNtofu curry enhanced with cumin, lemon, chili, ginger, cilantro, & red pepper. Yum. one glass of water only.

walking 17:00 [1] 1.3 km (13:05 / km)
rhr:58 slept:9.0 weight:63kg (injured)

Iced my hip again just for good measure, will take it easy today, with just a toddle over to train station & then to the library, drycleaners, & grocery. I can see Richmond thru the SW window, so the Amazing Storm has lightened up at least for a little while, giving me a window to foolishly pile on the (fake) gortex & scoot for the library. Yay! back to O-food AT LAST! Tonight two odd little organic pears will be poached in white wine with just a bit of red wine added, vanilla, lemon peel, cinnamon & clove, to be served chilled after a main course of baked acorn squash possibly accompanied by my own patented ghee-based magic sauce, and a paprika pork--tomato-roasted-redNgreen-peppers-sauce with organic kamut pasta. I imagine the pears will be deliciously scented and delicately pink, but I don't know.

walking 15:00 [1] 0.5 km (30:00 / km)
rhr:60 slept:9.0 weight:62.6kg (injured)

waddled gently around the Fraser Foreshore park (lotsa dogs being walked, chickadees, and a small plain but industrious woodpecker -probably a downy or sumthin but too lazy to look it up) in a break in the rainy weather - D tried some photos, I looked at water, kind of interesting where the clear dark tea of the streams meets the opaque grey muddiness of the Fraser. Still getting whupped by lesson seven in the music ace, but I can tell I am getitng better. My brother got engaged!!! Went to a pub for dinner, really cheap and seductively cheesy pizza, but gave me wicked heartburn so definitely NOT O-food.
