wandering w/ O-dog in park before setting up her crate/fence/water dish/etc in an orienteering-meet-like fashion. She seemed to like it & when some older lady meandered by & asked if I was "Orienting my Puppy" I had no clue what she meant but was happy to say yes! D brought my Orienteering Chair so I was able to simulate the meet for Gypsy even more accurately despite the cold. Lotsa brie & fruitcake helped.

standing stuff, not at all balanced or looking good or Anything, but beautiful breath synchronization!
Hydration poor, maybe work on it this PM w/ some ice for right shoulder? O-food questionable as lush Thai leftovers still yearn to be eaten, but we will have them w/ organic brown rice at least. Oh, & some braised lamb & some gai-lan w/oyster sauce....PS joints still seem OK from yesterday's athletic-like wallowings. Sweet!

tried diving in penguin-style to reduce initial sensation of cold - worked well, but non-mammalian body still shivery almost immediately. Tried novel approach of aggressive activity (see if it wrecks joints urk) cuz I heard this actually generates metabolic heat? This also seemed to work, & I wanted to stay in longer but was careful to limit this first expt. Fun floating & looking up at snow on glass roof (that wasn't in forecast, but G-dog sure loves hunting for imaginary mice in it - forepaw-bounces just like a coyote - AOWN?) Off to work and transfusion downtown this afternoon with much walking. order-in Thai tofu, yum!

0.4km/0.3km/1.0km/0.4km trotting around downtown and to & from skytrain, nice rest intervals in between to keep my feet etc from getting achey.

nggghh, sleep still not good, my powerful insomniac reflexes are mesmerized by the 2AM Puppy-Pee-Trek - approximately 96 Treks to go, so hopefully I will re-learn how to sleep with the Trek in place. My heart is bounding along like a chickadee's....nnngghgh. But I got lots done last night! For example, the 'ahi for O-food tonight is already busy defrosting; asiatic theme tonight, gai-lan, miso soup...

three puppy loops of 0.2 km/0.2km/0.4km, with sleet on one, and John-Muir-like windstorm on second but gorgeous sun, night and freezing wind on last one, taking total 95 min. to complete. Also much altitude change, and cross country bush-whacking, bending, stretching, staggering, to retrieve flexi-leash from bushes, branches, trees, hedges, leaf piles etc. (very good for my leg joints. And other joints too) Like a string-course with eternally moving Sisyphus-string pulled by untiring O-dog. "Shiba" might mean "bushes" in japanese and I know why... we are both exhausted. No swimming today.

tree & mountain & a quick prayer sequence last night not enuf to really log... maybe today. Thinking more about gluts for disembarking canoes - will work on warrior lunge & locust/pilates swimmer, and also "lifting couch isometric" for arms, notice pinky is... pre-numb, so I have to remember to exercise it, & finally I think R shoulder would benefit from some ice. Sleep is leaving much to be desired. Hawaiian O-food adventure begins with lu'au pig cooked in a crockpot, hmmmm....hydrate, hydrate!

good ground session, OK standing. warrior is very tight, almost impossible, but still feels very exciting & full of promise. Iced shoulder, 1.5 glasses water, added non sequitur broccoli w/oyster sauce & some sturdy Christmas brie and fresh hot baguette to hawaiian themes. Ha!

huge monster rainstorm outside with wind, Gypsy frantically feigning sleep to avoid going for a snorkel walk (being 6 inches tall, this much rain IS an issue). However, soon we will go out, and I also will go to bank etc for a series of loggable walks. Back to o-food - salmon filet with lemon & dill, wild rice, & veg done in some sort of delightfully retro style to be researched from Betty Crocker after walks.

0.5km/1.1km/0.4km/0.3km - avoid-the-puddle loop; /pumpkin spice latte/jewelery-for Meg/banking/gai-lan loop; home thru the garden loop; massive 45 minute stand-and-stare-at-cars/dogs/people Puppy Loop. Not quite enuf rest in between and thus feet & right hip are achey but I think OK. Tea, post-storm sunshine, flaked-out pup, & Jurgen Goethe/CBC inspire me to add hot french bread & balsamic vinegar dip to menu. Maybe yoga tonight?

oooo. right hip Snarly last night despite visit form Mr. Tylenol, also got Snarlier after 3am Puppy-Pee Trek, had to get out big guns of Mr. Ice Pak, who made other people in the same bed real happy. Maybe be cautious about this biking thing. But it is so fun to watch the little digital thing go around the digital track!
Highlights 2006: snorkelling w/ wild seals off vancouver island; seeing my akaku anuenue (soul?) & Dennis', in the mists of Haleakala towards sunset; sleeping in a yurt; stargazing in the dark of the moon in the Mojave; 1001 nights' anniversary on Saltspring; and of course "Girls' Wild Week Out in Waikiki" with a buddy from grad school, heheheh...

two loops, 0.3km/0.6km, one w/ Gypsy and the other thru the woods to see the stream very high (very rainy storm in progress) and then off to butcher to discuss marrow bones for the G-dog.

puppy yoga & then the puppy fell asleep. Energy all bouncey and uneven, left out tree cuz people were watching but I did get alot done. Hip cranky but OK overall, will be nice for a few days. No O-food, out for dinner to Mr. Ho's.

back from moon-gazing from the hot-tub, looking up at cedar boughs thru the bedroom skylight, & watching deer from the livingroom window (stags pee in a squat position, just like the does - how's that for AOWN). Some chocolate made its appearance, also cherry tarts and fruitcake. No hats though. Two glasses water so far today, did usual holiday dehydration gig which must be remedied.

went down and did the stat bike again, 10 minutes so far OK, an hour after. Walked with Gypsy for third time today, she is getting co-ordinated enuf that soon I'll be able to log sensible 0.8km loops with her, which I am lookin forward to. She is now passed out in front of fire, I've drunk one more glass, tepid this time, & have done most of meal-planning for next week form Hawaiian cook book- kalua pig, 'ahi, a hawaiian-Jewish vegetarian pasta, and I forgot what else. Beef stew from freezer for dinner.
