off to Victoria to orientate at UVic on Sunday! O-dog meets my parents and goes for her first big-ferry ride. I think I am gonna start eating more cheese or sumthin cuz this is enuf weight loss. BMI yesterday was just under 20 & that is a satisfactory goal. Cheese ! mmmmm...

have decided to devote half a cup of coffee each morning (or somesuch) to reading random AP logs to get more familiar w/ different types of crazy athletes. Almost done Life on Earth (turns out I need narrative as well as information so have mixed in a Sayers novel as well) & may do Attenborough's second natural history book after. Then HP is coming out in July, I'll have to re-read the series starting...sometime...
Maybe vietnamese noodles w/ gailan tonite? or takeout? Meg's persian chickpea stew ? Going to cycle the earthquake pack soon too, fresh meds, fresh cans, fresh water...

two puppy loops approx. 1km each, one urban around the block, & second to offset squishing down the soggy forest path right along the Creek & then briskly back up the tarmac path. Also did a session of Narcotics Search Dog (toilet paper cylinders set up all over the livingroom with "narcotics" hidden in a few of them - all I can say is she is slow but scores 100%, those drug smugglers better watch out...
And banking downtown, 1.3 km total. Feet Ok at end of day, hurting but not bad, will elevate a bit.
first wave of cherry trees, star magnolias, & red maple keys are showing up AOWN.

hydration exercise yesterday satisfactory so will continue that. re feet, let's do smaller puppy loops for a day or so til the feet stop hurting so much, at least today. And elevate a few times a day. Maybe tomorrow go to downtown bank cuz it is much closer to train station. Ok, elevate, elevate!

half hour walk W/ Gypsy, feet were fine. Elevated feet for 15 minutes. around 2pm feet twinging just a bit just from tramping around kitchen/laundry etc, so a setdown w/ tea & a bit more elevation before second walk. Setting up dog-pack for her first over-night trip this weekend to UVic orienteering, also refreshing the back-of-the-jeep TP-&-isopropanol-kit for more "back-country" destinations....

yikes! my doggy is an Explodey Dog ! (well, she was, and now she is a Tired But Empty Dog) My fleece & my jeans are in the wash, & I scrubbed down the elevator. This means that we don't need to do lotsa walking now since her energy is very low. So my feet are gonna recover nicely for the rest of the day. Another round of elevation...
7pm stroll after a cautious meal - seems to be sticking... feet achey a little by end.
final walk up & down the block at 9pm -she is perky again! My feet hurt some but not bad, amybe about like usual... one more elevation tonight & then take it a bit easy tomorrow as well. Lower back hurts-tension?

Very tired today, may be dehydrated. Will work on it, take it easy today, sit outside in gorgeous sunshine & watch for squirrels w/ O-dog. Thai-style tofu.

it's snowing! off to make pasta w/ the ladies today, will bring some home to serve w/ a candied-salmon & scallion cream sauce and a big ol' stirfry of cauliflower, broccoli, carrot & chard.

1.2/0.4/0.4/0.4/0.4 = 2.8km total of long puppy loop (really nice at the time - down the creek & up the Stairmaster) & commute over to pasta-making - too much, feet & legs just HURT. Must take it easy tomorrow.

Yellow Dog Yoga 45:00 [1]

did 25 minutes floor stuff & then 10 minutes of the more overtly yoga standing things (warrior, tree, triangle...) inside to a nice tibetan bells thing, very calming. And 10 minutes stealth yoga/strength in the woods while waiting for pup.
Went to first "puppy class" w/O-dog - frankly disappointing in its crass commercialism - a few platitudes like Be Consistent & then some Really Obscure Commands to work on - "focus" and "off"? Huh?! these are bouncey babies who mostly don't even know where the end of their leash is...G dealt by lying down and carefully doing nothing much at all until we gave her a treat periodically. gotta think how to extract goodness from that situation.

vegan attack on heap-o-vegies - adobo-style stirfry of mushrooms, tofu, & snowpeas. Add on some gai lan, and we're close to under control brassica-wise. And lemon meringue pie from Alfie's last night to finish up...

last few days I am on a weight ramp losing 200 grams a day. How fun is that? No O-food today, gonna take chinese takeout over to dad-in-law's whose knee is not-so-good. Super rainy & misty. Time change done, nnngghh...

normal distance puppy loop (YAY), forgot snorkel gear, dang. Again, surprisingly no other dogs out to play with. Our dog is small but Really Hardened Up.

fell asleep on couch & felt like cr*p upon waking as usual so tried floor stuff (been doing only stand-up things during this last week's stealth yoga in forest how 'bout that) - first thing that I noticed is everything really hurts! so modified just about everything, did mostly passive-gravity range of motion positions, only a bit of strength. R shoulder, R elbow partly locked, gonna have to work on them. nggghngnnn...anyhooo, off to Alfie's, tralala !!
