well, just like Britney oops I did it again, set myself up for a flare & it isn't like I didnt warn myself on Wed....oh well, here we are in the present having perhaps learned (somewhat) form the past, and looking cheerfully to the future. Rest day luckily today, just set up some Haitian stew for Saturday w/ spicey beef, cashews, peppers & onions, & then "dirty rice" to made on the day. Tonight we go to the Club for another B-day dinner for Alf, w/Ram - they have truffle-scented "frites" (OK french fries) on the menu, how fun is that?! and a buddhism seminar tomorrow...sunshine...

Note

I think G-dog's performance on Wed shoulda got her onto the WOC team no matter what selection protocol was used ;-) at that speed who needs to navigate?

walking 1:05:00 [1] 3.2 km (20:19 / km)

yeah, well, my feet hurt, yow! Big flare. But me & pup did a very gentle km around sunny neighborhood talking to other dogs (Lady & the old sheltie from the co-op in AM, then the Terrible Trio - fat blue chee-wa-waa, fat grumpy yellow mutt, & cheerful off-lead black coccker spaniel in PM) and then just an outing over to the cool woods in PM. Then walked to station w/ Alf to go downtown to the Vancouver Club which was so fun, I always like to pretend I am "penetrating a bastion of male, sumthin-or-other", even tho I know it has be de-segrgated or whatever for years. Great food! Bad, bad feet!

OK, logging indicates 1.8km at once is not to be repeated too often. weird huh... split it up and its OK, but all at once, maybe too much. Oh well, its all data. More sunshine, salmon & beurre noir over organic brown rice, a salad w/ pumpkin seeds & tahini dressing, broc-carrot stirfry all on tap. Tail-end of strawberry rhubarb cobbler to follow.
In a preliminary way I'd say 59 kilos feels better even tho BMI indicates I could go lower. Maybe this is the compromise between minimizing weight-associated joint wear &... whatever that weakness was that seemed to be associated with weighing around 57 kilos. (?) But when I go back & read the log that weight/weakness was also associated w/ (1) hi mileage cuz D was outa town & resulting flare (=weakness DUH) (2) stressful fire incident. Gotta think more. I think I really would like to minimize joint wear. How real is that phenomenon? Look for studies on arthritics?

walking 28:00 [1] 1.3 km (21:32 / km)

took a tylenol, packed a puppy lunch, & headed for the park - It was fun, read in the sunshine & watched the planes on final for the airport, then headed home for a total of 80 minutes outside. Pup sleeping.

walking 50:00 [1] 2.4 km (20:50 / km)

given that our late afternoon walk was really short (30 minutes, 0.6km), I was wondering why my feet were so cranky this evening - well, duh, I forgot two shopping trips this am while puppy snoozed - corner grocery & T&T (0.6km, 1.2km) - got my toban jian finally but not the right jasmine tea - maybe I'll go to chinatown...

ok, got the weight back on, now see if we can stay here... feeling strong today, maybe I shook whatever hopped on board on Sunday. Tofu for dinner... sweet thai chilli sauce, cashews, broccoli, asparagus, onion.... gonna add on a potato salad as well, since the last two organic potatoes were going mad in the cupboard, maybe I can think up an asian twist?! cilantro & scallion? sesame oil? yeah!
sunshine today looking forward to pup walk, maybe a big one today!

walking 35:00 [1] 1.8 km (19:27 / km)

down the creekside path, across to Taylor Park via Ledgestone, had some water and rested, then back along the parkway. Met Sophie and Whistler & played, very exhausted with heat & excitement. She is gonna have to get used to the "heat" so trying to stay out for longer while doing less, and rest outside... 1:45 outside. My feet complaining a little bit, likewise hip - but it was really fun and we'll do a very short second walk when it is warmer.
For last walk ran into Kelli, went and visited her backyard for some (real) off-leash time, & G & Kelli then ran 10,874.6 km in just over 8 minutes which is really remarkable for a Shiba & a Sheltie, but teamwork matters.

still groggy. Finished last HP book, annoying series but it's a lotta pages so I like that part. Gonna read the train book, maybe Always Coming Home? (although LeGuin's laadidah vison of utopian calfornians of the futre is also annoying me right now) Ol' fashioned salmon loaf from my mom's recipe, plus a bit of chinese takeout, whole baked yams w/ sesame oil...

walking 48:00 [1] 2.3 km (20:52 / km)

10AM one hour outside, over past elementary school to Taylor Park & back along the parkway; 4Pm one hour outside, truncated version, lotsa sunshine & very windy, met Tisha, a pitbull, another asian dog, & a shnauzer, & saw Kelli in the distance. feeling better this afternoon.

kinda groggy since last night, D as well. Did two loops, first over to the creek and back, and then second similar in the late afternoon with both dog and husband, read on the bench in the woods for half an hour, sunshine thru the leaves, lil birdies tweeting away...
