walking 27:00 [1] 1.3 km (20:46 / km)

cooler today, so we went over to the park via the daycares, spent some time watching planes and kids, explored the tall grass, and came home via the park way. 70 minutes outside.
Thai tofu tonight, sweet chilli sauce, carrots & green beans, probably eat the second haitian mango, so sweet it makes yer head hurt, crazy big seed laying strands of messy seed-stuff all thru it, just like the mangoes in Haiti, very nostalgic, yummy smell made me lose my mind and chomp into the seed immediately getting strings in my teeth, reminds of saying one should eat mangos only when naked and in the sea. D says they are similar to the local (non-export) mangos in central America as well.

Note

time for tea. Organic, Fair Trade, Dar-Jee-Ling no less, mmmmmmm!

walking 20:00 [1] 1.0 km (20:00 / km)

duh, I KNEW there was a 1k 'round the block urban thing in there but didn't log it! Right before a delayed dinner...

walking 1:05:00 [1] 3.2 km (20:19 / km)

still warm for the doggy, so I'm saying two short loops of 0.5 km each, but about.. 70 minutes outside total. Then off to train station & downtown for transfusion & another May-birthday buffet at Hotel Vancouver this time, a fabulous time was had by all. (2.2km total) Seafood voted better than Runway 26. I had four desserts. Can't beat that for fineness...

gonna make a smoked salmon cream sauce for a pile of organic whole wheat spaghetti along w/ a stirfry; perhaps there will be some chocolate cake left.

walking 20:00 [1] 1.1 km (18:11 / km)

feeble waddle in heat, then brisker longer walk after 6pm thru the cool woods, about 1.5 hr outside total. I liked it, G not so much, altho she still likes meeting other dogs even if they just lie panting on the grass together.

walking 40:00 [1] 2.0 km (20:00 / km)

back in Burnaby - gentle walk over to the school & back (lotsa "wild flowers" planted by kids - daisies, lupines, flax, poppies...) followed by lounging by the gate for an hour, & then a strictly neighborhood half-hour meandering the streets in search of the perfect place to pee... pup pretty tired today after her big trip.
malaysian tofu w coconut milk, onion, garlic, chiles, & pharmaceutically significant quantities of turmeric, plus a homemade chocolate cake. There was broccoli too & other virtuous vegies....

Note

Back to Burnaby, took all day - did back roads out past Loon Lake, photographed some more red & orange hills along the Bonaparte River, stopped for lunch at Horstling Farms, what a great place! Then down the Fraser Canyon (just for fun) past Skihist Provincial Park my favorite campground in the world, and Lytton, dinner in Hope. Saw the Rocky Mountaineer on its way to Kamloops, what fun!

walking 20:00 [1] 1.0 km (20:00 / km)

more marching the dog about the resort, also photos to document bigger cabins for possible future stay, then off to teach G-dog to canoe on Hourglass Lake (noticed it on way to O-meet on Sat) - spent the whole afternoon there w/ picnic lunch as D built the Ally collapsible canoe, then canoed about with a pair of loons & two sets of baby Canada geese. It was great !! G took a nap after about 10 minutes of gazing about at the paddles, shore, and dark green water. Stopped briefly at Deadman Falls (wow! that is big ! and stupendous! and completely undeveloped...) on the way back to resort. Barbequed again. yum.

walking 20:00 [1] 1.0 km (20:00 / km)

resting today, just meandering w/ the dog around the resort, checking out the other (very peaceful and private) cabins, different views of the lake.
barbequed salmon. yum.
