| managed to stay away from DQ last night...today downtown on train to bank & coffee w/ Steve, beef dhansak (pumpkin, I think, in...Hindi? but I'm using zucchini) for dinner, & gonna try & take care of stephanotis, guava, & miserable pomegranite, lil joshua tree seems happy... then we are done. Oh right, all the succulents. we'll see. |

| this was the downtown thing & 3 dog-walks. Forgot to mention Gypsy stole a cookie from a defenceless child a few days ago - actually it did look alot like kid was offering the cookie (I think she only had processing power for "oooh! yellow dog!" & forgot the cookie in her leading hand) & so G-dog gently took it like it was a robin's egg w/ unbelieving expression on her face like she just won the Dog-Cookie Lottery & toddled off to investigate it (cinnamon-oatmeal-raisin, yum!). Kid is kinda blank, OMG my cookie is gone...adults snorting w/ laughter. Took cookie away from Gyp but let her eat a lil bit since it kinda did get given to her, from her point of view at least. |

| vacuuming & mopping - good for upper body today. Also, as it turns out, alot of gardening, I believe this is called "core" - involving movement in all directions? you bet!
sunroom just got inspected, what a disaster, everything except the tamarind has some kinda problem and there is aphid juice sticking eveything together, may have to ditch the grapefruit tree!?(no way, even if I have to hand-bathe every leaf!) started bathing and tossing - coffee is grumpy, plumeria & koa trees are grumpy, threw out that nasty little chinese arthritis onion cuz it was gross (yay), maybe repot the jade plant which actually seems pretty happy... GAH!! |

| down to the parkway & all along it, blackberries all in bloom. then lots of heel and sit-down-stay. Down is not really working, well sorta starting to, but maybe too late for class this week. It's like everything blew up - no more sit, no more down, these kibbles suck, I'm on a hunger-strike...is this the terrible twos puppystyle?
groomed euphorbia & took cuttings, dragged grapefruit tree on trolley to guest bathroom & shoved it in shower, made bathroom & hall into swamp which segued smoothly into mopping & then tea-break...then we will extract tree from bathroom. Yeah.... |

| felt great today, going down hills was not shakey, but strong & firm, wow, it felt good! two additional walks w/ G-dog, feeling a bit uncertain about all this obedience, how much does she need to be able to do, really? oh well, only a few more classes...
did another version of szechuan shrimp/tofu, with greens & noodles this, quite good. |

| want to massively attack house - huge plant baths etc - will see if intermittent, gigantic, & bizarre L shoulder pain (WTF?! what is this where did it come from, yow!!!) interfers substantially. oooh, was it from yoga yesterday? don't remember torquing on shoulder, generally very good on that after 21 years...
organic beef stirfry w/ onion & broc... OK, organic meat, I'm a bit uncomfortable w/ that for some reason, but yes meds etc in meat are good to avoid either by not eating meat or...organic meat. In fact, the greatest concern I have re meat is the... transport & slaughter house "mishaps" (growing up on farm I am pretty clear it is OK for me to eat our own critters treated well & killed respectfully) - from what I can gather, "organic" in BC requires standards very close to SPCA certified meat production to prevent that kind of suffering. So for the time being, if we eat meat, we'll eat "organic"....

| two dog-walks about 60 minutes total outside plus walk to station & over to Robin's house - gorgeous w/ cute kids.
Bruno the young boxer tried to eat G's head which oddly she (mostly) loves. He also has substantial romantic interest in her & a resulting astonishing acrobatic ability which enables him to (almost) succeed where all others (of similar stature) have utterly failed.
did the malaysian tofu & broc curry tonight instead of last night. went out to DQ for a chocolate chip cookie dough Blizzard which I was unable to finish. wow. |

| hmmm, this seems like too much as the feet protest. But instead of compensating unhealthily by chomping tylenol sandwich, vacuuming house, & doing third load of laundry, I make tea (fairtrade & organic Darjeeling) & lure myself into leaving the grime alone & reading about Szechuan shrimp. Annoyed about "junk miles" concept. That's all I do. nhhgggnnh!!
well, anyhoooo, walk around the base of Taylor Park was pretty if a bit muddy, enhanced by backlash from Gypsy's eating a lot of fresh spring grass at the O-meet yesterday and skimping on bulk-providing kibble... turns out this results in phenomenon similar to the traditional christmas festivity of Tinsel-Butt Cat Rodeo....greener but just as exciting. |

| went to pi's second event on the North Shore, POURING rain as we pulled into the parking lot at Cypress Falls, then it cleared & G & I could go for a walk down past baseball game & then back up thru neighborhood, D enjoyed the afternoon run. After that did mostly lil local walks to Quickly Drain the Dog as we went out for Japanese & At World's End, more swashbuckling than you can shake a stick at! too much popcorn, Coke, & chocolate, but sometimes ya just hafta do it !
Finished updating the O-book w/ Sage Stomp, & have just about finished reading canoeing book, lotsa nice routes for the next three summers or so, just here in Lower Mainland. |
