Note

heavy snot training. Also coughing up a storm. very little sleep but surprisingly cheerful about the whole thing - maybe that's due to the Thai delivery which felt very stimulating on throat, yowza!

walking 30:00 [1] 1.5 km (20:00 / km)

down the paved bikepath & then up thru the woods along the creek. Rain came back bigtime as we headed home. Cold is pretty bad, cough is starting, feel better outside.

Note

lotsa sleep, feeling better today altho cold is worse (!?). Back in the home groove.

walking 18:00 [1] 0.8 km (22:30 / km)

two short walks in pouring rain, G is lil bit puzzled. Sat in the lobby for a bit and G harassed a huge beetle under the seat into giving her a blast of (apparently) super-stinky defensive beetlejuice which made her rub her face & sneeze. Maybe she'll learne something from this re bugs.

walking 50:00 [1] 2.5 km (20:00 / km)

around the parkway & a lil extra bit - got a real nice cold started here, but as usual felt a bit better in the cool fresh air. Then off to the train for transfusion, chinese delivery for dinner, early bedtime.

walking 28:00 [1] 1.4 km (20:00 / km)

last day driving, really getting tired. Picked up the jeep from the dealership in Van WA, new transmission got us back to canada, yay!
walked in rest-stop just south of Arlington, then stopped at a Denny's at the Arlington off of I-5 - nicest happy staff, clean, cheerful. D slept for half an hour in the jeep after a good meal, we sucked back a Coke, and got home around 6:30. Walked in the light rain around the neighborhood & G did about a million marking pee's just to let everyone know she was home. Eightball has a faboo lil new raincoat & a cool new LED blinker for the dark days of winter. Apparently there was a coyote attack a few days ago, dunno if G would be considered the date or the dinner by a coyote, she looks like a pretty cute half-size coyote to me...

walking 30:00 [1] 1.5 km (20:00 / km)

another day wandering the very pretty start/finish at Cobb. Up to the top of the hill to sit for 20 minutes w/ G in the morning sun, scoped out the finish (the clicking of the clock and the galloping of the finishers freaked the G-dog - she thought maybe she should be playing rocket-dog or sumthin, so we left & re-visited; second time was old hat & she was mellow - dog psychology). Interesting to hear people freaking about controls etc - I thought the little blonde girl who just grabbed her mom at the finish and bawled her eyes out was actually way more dignified than some of the grown men who came hollering over the finish...I know it is more "important" to the adults ie some are wearing team USA uniforms, A meet points, blablabla, but wow, the loss of dignity is profound & multifaceted...dang.
