walking 30:00 [1] 1.4 km (21:26 / km)

D went on EARLY AM photo expedition so I walked G-dog up thru park, lovely grey day good light for photos. Afterwards for breakfast turns out the pretty hotel dining room is huge Saturday brunch destination, so I hopped out and visited McD's across the street instead - fascinating! first there is this thing called a McGriddle which I thought was an english muffin variant, but no, it is a set of PANCAKES w/ extra sturdiness engineered into the outsides so they can serve as "bread" for the egg-sausage-cheese interior. PLUS, the pancake has veins of syrup incorporated in it. Whoaaa! ...I dissected it all carefully, and ate it w enjoyment & interest. Second thing is a cinnamon bun variant where they've cunningly baked the bun part in tiny bitesize bun-ettes before assembling them together & dousing them with cinnamon-butter & icing. I was not able to finish this one, although the flavors were quite good.
Turkey Enchiladas by Mary, very good.

Note

very good Turkey Dinner largely by Mary. Pies made out of actual pumpkins by Amy, smooth as silk!
Upon tasting a wine I said I could imagine poaching a pear in it, w a touch of black pepper & vanilla - was told this wine was not "appropriate" for poaching - also noticed someone else being informed that another wine was not "appropriate" for incorporating into a sangria.
Now, ladies and gentlemen...
(1) really, from a biologist's point of view that stuff is Exhausted Yeast Growth Medium, & by that I mean that the wee yeasts shat in it so much that they died of it. Really. Keep that in mind.
(2) from a plant biochemist's point of view, yes there are some fascinating combinations of aromatic esters & so on, by all means let us ingest & appreciate them in our Varying & Respectful ways...
(3) and, OK, if a bottle of exhausted yeast growth medium got up to, say, $400 or so in the odd venue of human valuation, I probably WOULD gather my friends and say, here, we shan't poach anything in this at least at first, let us taste this from all angles & try & figure out what collection of esters has been so highly envalued by our society. ("envalued", it's a word. I just typed it...)
