Note
canoeing at Hayward lake today - we figured out that we must apply silicon to the prow-things, & it will behave better - we shall see. Gonna make way-bread to go w picnic of hummous, goat cheese, old cheddar...plus cherries, plums, figs, basically the dregs of our vacation food. 1c each plain & rye flours, 3/4c water, 1Tb bk pdr, 3/4tsp salt, 3Tb olive oil, mix a medium stiff dough, roll out to 0.5 cm thick, lay on cornmeal cookie sheet & poke w fork, bake 400 20-25 min til a bit browned - watch edges like an eagle! adulterate w rosemary or spices or seeds of choice, use WW instead of rye, roll in salt crunches on top before baking...mmmmm, AND its vegan!
walking 12:00 [1] 0.6 km (20:00 / km)
haha, well, no canoeing, we stayed flexible & decided to rest for the AM & afternoon w/ a homestyle picnic, in the late afternoon we went for a truncated Circle Farm Tour (Hopcott Meats & Blue Heron Fruit Winery) briefly Viewed the lake where we WOULD have canoed, & agreed it is a lovely canoeing lake for later, then some more charming backroads, & finally a gorgeous dinner in Abbotsford deep in the Valley at Restaurant 62 nominally for our fifth ann - nice bread & a tahini-rich hummous, a complementary & very nice seared ahi amuse on a couscous timbale, soup/salad (D was so happy w his tomato soup, I loved my tiny pretty salad w tons of huge crunchy hazelnuts), an intense raspberry sorbet to "cleanse", or, uh blast off the top of your head, still very fun - then a huge (shared) pasta for me & good mahimahi for D, organic Mighty Leaf Teas for both of us, w a mini-cheesecake & a berry shortcake. Overall not out of this world, but extremely good & fab gracious service - for the price it was madness! A great end to a great vacation!
evening walk w G around the hood, saw Nicky, met Leo.
Yellow Dog Yoga 30:00 [1]
felt weary so D took G for afternoon walk & I did some moves to get blood flowing - lotsa remedial strength this time, also focussed on breathing & just doing stuff slow & several times.
Eyes are not perfect but doing so much better than a few days ago!
