hiking 49:57 [3] 4.44 km (11:15 / km) +15m 11:03 / km

Needed to go to the grocery store, so swung around more of the mountain bike trails across the road. Was pretty hot going through the powerline area.

hiking 56:58 [3] 4.47 km (12:44 / km) +122m 11:12 / km

Millstone Hill, MIT this time from Keyes Road. Pulled into the pulloff just behind the MIT Forrester who was surprised to see me, as not many people walk in these woods. We talked about the damage from the storm for some time and agreed it was incredible. They are still figuring out what to do with some of the downfall areas. But he assured me the trails were now clear, even though he wasn't sure who had cleared them. Nice walk.

Timberlake Conservation Area and Keyes Road. I should probably come up with a hiking/road category as so many of my loop hikes include a road portion. Was nervous about seeing a lot of deadfall from the storm last month, but the chain saws have been out and all trails were clear. Still amazed with the destruction created by the winds in just over a couple of minutes.

Walking on trail 1:19:12 [3] 3.88 km (20:25 / km) +32m 19:36 / km

Oak Hill Conservation Area, Chelmsford. More of a social walk than my usual hike, but it was nice to have company and chat with my friend, Geri-Lyn. Hopefully this will prompt her to start living a healthier lifestyle.

hiking 25:29 [3] 2.17 km (11:44 / km) +43m 10:41 / km

Frances Hill Reservation, Westford. I was looking for something easy, but new and this fit the bill perfectly.

hiking 12:15 [3] 0.58 mi (21:08 / mi) +66m 15:38 / mi

Wachusett Moutain, walk to the start
1 PM

Orienteering 1:19:47 [3] 4.04 km (19:45 / km) +88m 17:48 / km

Brown Course, NEOC Training, BYOM. Rather awful beginning, as I was unprepared for the very green woods and the map scale of 1:10,000. Am getting really used to the 1:7,500 and enjoy that much more. Once I got going on the map, it came together ok, but the first control was brutal.
2 PM

hiking 3:41 [3] 0.2 mi (18:25 / mi)

Caught the end of the walk from the finish.
4 PM

hiking 47:21 [3] 2.56 mi (18:30 / mi) +70m 17:02 / mi

Browning Pond to Camp Marshall, Mid-state Trail. While J-J was flying at Tanner-Hiller, I took the opportunity to grab a new, abeit small, section to continue the effort.
