Ice Climbing 7:00:00 [2]
Day 2, with Richard and 2 students. A more alpine adventure. Hiked along the Swift river to a giant talus field. Bushwack up the talus to a low angle ice slab. Climb the slab for a pitch. Buchwack to more ice. Climb moderate ice ans scrubby brush. Another bushwack to a 6 foot wide cleft in a large beautiful butress of rock. Climb ice in the cleft for nearly 60 meters to the top.
Rap down the cleft, bushwack down the hill. Rap down the ice slab. Bushwack down to river. Hike back to car.
Nice day, except I started to get sick just before the last pitch, and had to set up a new rapel anchor at the top in 13F weather and howling wind.,,
