Got out of quarantine at 4pm. Survived the experience ok, and while they did most things well (apart from the food) saw a number of things which needed improving.
Number one on the list is to install serving hatches in the doors, so they don’t have to be opened to get your food. Yes it will require the replacement of the doors, but a relatively small expense in the scheme of things.
2. Space the rooms out. At one stage there were only 4 rooms occupied on the floor we were on, all adjacent to each other at one end of the corridor.
3. When they come around each day to restock the room, ring up to ask what you need and then put it in front of the hatch. Every day they would knock and the door would be open for a couple of minutes to do this.
4. Proper PPE for the workers. Surgical masks really don’t cut it. They should be provided with N95 masks when they do the rounds.
5. Rapid testing on arrival, to try and pick up any positive cases before they actually get in to the hotel.

There are probably a couple of others, but that is sufficient for today

3 x 2km tempo at the max speed of the treadmill. I probably could have gone a bit quicker, but the machine wouldn't.

Day 11. The end is in sight, only 2 or 3 sessions on the treadmill to go.

Because the menu is a repeat of last week, can work out when to order deliveroo or Uber eats. Tonight is one of those occasions because last week the ravioli was thick, rubbery and tasteless.

Into the second week of quarantine, and the menu is an exact repeat of week one. Last night’s culinary delight was pie, mash and peas&carrots. Same as last Sunday. Same day of the week ............

One week down, and one to go. Could probably go a bit longer on the treadmill, but it is boring.

Food reached a new low last night with chicken schnitzel and chips. The coating was thick and rubbery, the tomato and cheese topping was salty; and the chips were cold and soggy. It was just nasty
