Running 1:45:00 [2] 21.0 km (5:00 / km)

HFW up Porter, over to Rivelin and down the big trails to the dam, up to Stannington, back down Rivelin. Ran slow and easy, with the philosophy that there is no such thing as too slow. I found the first 30 mins a real struggle and almost turned around, but it got easier and easier after that. Tired by the end though.

The last few weeks have been very poor in running terms, and I have been struggling with racing and even basic training. I suspect that this is the result of a combination of factors that have landed me on a downward spiral with both mental and physiological consequences. This is day 1 of an aerobic rescue plan, as suggested by RobB. The idea is to run long and slow for a few days in a row to 'reset' the system. It's that or a complete rest, and with the great weather outside I can't bear the idea of a rest. I figure that this is worth a try - if it fails I will have to accept that a rest is the only option left. After weeks of moaning, I am also going to be positive. This is where I am at and I am going to accept it. The only goal of the next couple of weeks is to start to enjoy running again.
