Creag Duhbh (sp?) hill race from the Newtonmore Highland games. Stacked field due to British champs status and a fast and mad start with a lap of the grass track then some fences to vault, a river to ford and a steep bank to climb. I was a way back by the time we hit the single track through the woods and decided to sit in and keep my powder dry. The trouble was, the track was narrow all the way up, so I didn't get a chance to pass a few folk until near the top. The plus side was that I felt good for the descent, so pushed on and got past a few more on the way down. Held on for a decent-ish 27th and 3rd V40, which was enough to earn me 2nd overall for the series.

This was a really fun race and I was surprised to feel OK after the classic race yesterday. Cheered Jenny on in the 4x150m after and then lucked out with an invite back to chez Hill-Strain for a couple of nights.

Running warm up/down 4:00 [2] 0.5 km (8:00 / km) +2m 7:51 / km
