Sunday Jul 1

Orienteering race 40:00 [5]**** 8 km (5:00 / km)
spiked:23/28c
WOC middle test. Tried to galvanize myself into action, but failed miserably. Constant worry about running speed leading to pushing too hard and mistakes and blowing up physically. Pretty depressing experience on what was a great course and a great area.

Running 20:00 [2]3 km (6:40 / km)
Long warm up, but no warm down.

Long drive back to Sheffield with 3 disappointed people and one very happy person - nice one Craney, really glad you pulled it out!

Saturday Jun 30

Orienteering race 1:30:00 [5]**** 17 km (5:18 / km)
spiked:32/35c
WOC long test. Took some medicine, had a decent warm up and got myself in a good frame of mind. I ran the race as well as I could, hardly any mistakes, and as fast as I could push myself. Managed to convince myself that this would be enough on the way round, but found out at the finish that I was way off the pace. Legs feel buggered after this first hard run back. No imediate ill effects, but coughed up some real crap in the pm.
Running 25:00 [2]5 km (5:00 / km)
Warm up and warm down.

Friday Jun 29

Orienteering 40:00 [3]**** 6 km (6:40 / km)
spiked:8/8c
Felt a bit better today, went to Lossie with Bilbo and Jen for some middle training. Ran steady with about 5 mins at race pace, seemed OK and no ill effects from it. Glad I had decided not to run the sprint this evening - I need all the time I can get.

Thursday Jun 28

Orienteering 35:00 [1]**** 5 km (7:00 / km)
(sick)
Very easy orienteering session on Loch Vaa, thought this would sort me out, but it just made me feel crap. Walked up all the hills and felt rubbish. I wasn't worried about getting better before the weekend until today. Popped some pills in the pm which made me feel a bit better.

Wednesday Jun 27

Note
(sick) (rest day)
Sinuses still very stuffed up. Drove up to Carrbridge with a brief stop by Loch Morlich to take a photo in a brief spell of sunshine.

Tuesday Jun 26

Note
(sick) (rest day)
Feel a bit better again...no training again though. Escaped our drowning city to the high ground of Garrigill to stay with parents on the way up to Scotland.

Monday Jun 25

Note
(sick) (rest day)
A. I'm still not better
B. I wouldn't go for a run in this weather if you paid me
C • £5? 7
Running 15:00 [1]3 km (5:00 / km)
Damn. I honestly didn't do this for the money. Waited at the University tram stop for 10 minutes, then saw a police speedboat drive past, followed by a Scuba unit. Decided there was bugger all chance of a tram so ran home.
