Sunday May 4

Orienteering race 1:11:16 [5]*** 14 km (5:05 / km)
spiked:27/30c
National event at Cawthorne. Muggy day and felt pretty drained on the way to the start, but perked up and felt good once I got going. A rough forest at the start but it got better as the course went on. Good to have fresh legs I reckon.
Running 35:00 [2]6 km (5:50 / km)
Decent warm up before the race and a run after with Rob.

Saturday May 3

Event: FCC Final 2008

Running Drills 15:00 [4]1 km (15:00 / km)
Another early morning session, drills and sprints in Hillsborough Park. Nice and warm a barely a soul about.
Running warm up/down 25:00 [2]4 km (6:15 / km)
Before and after the drills.

Friday May 2

Running 25:00 [2]5 km (5:00 / km)
Easy jog around the streets before a conference. Legs feeling tired, but a gorgeous morning.

Thursday May 1

Running 2:05:00 [3]25 km (5:00 / km)
Having noticed a pattern emerging in Craney's training over the past few days I thought I would take the chance to head out for a session with him before he sells his soul to the man. Out to Wharnecliffe and Greno, then back via Craney's place, it was tempting to stop when I ran right past the end of my street but there was no way I was going to let him get an extra 20 mins on me. Nice run at an optimal chatting pace, but felt pretty tired myself by the end.
C • What's 20 minutes... 3

Wednesday Apr 30

Running 40:00 [2]7 km (5:43 / km)
Short and easy up Loxley. I'm getting fed up with not seeing anyone I know, maybe I need to change my usual routes.
C • does that mean... 12
Climbing 1:00:00 [1]
Decent session at the works, did the whole green circuit plus Gareth showed me a few other good routes. I am going to hurt tomorrow.

Tuesday Apr 29

Track session 40:00 [5]6 km (6:40 / km)
Hallamshire track session, first time in a few weeks so I was more than a bit worried about it. I'm surprised to say that it was actually quite enjoyable, and we even had the honour of being able to train* with Ronnie the Rocket. Strides and drills followed by 4 x 600, 3 x 500, 4 x 300 with 1.15 recovery. Nice session that kept the interest up. Ran 1.51, 1.50, 1.50, 1.50, 1.31, 1.30, 1.29, 51, 50, 50, 49.

*By train I mean that we did our session and he ran around doing his own thing. Fair enough, he was probably pretty drained after a couple of tough days.
Running 55:00 [2]10 km (5:30 / km)
Run to track and run home with Jenny. Mike and Rob refused to run along the tow path because they were afraid of the puddles.

Monday Apr 28

Running 30:00 [2]5 km (6:00 / km)
Morning jog up to Bolehill, really stiff legs so very steady.
Circuits 40:00 [3]
ShUOC circuits. Tried to take it as easy as possible especially on the dynamic stuff. The rest of it felt good for my stiff back and legs.
Running warm up/down 10:00 [1]2 km (5:00 / km)
Dashed there straight from a lecture so no time for warm up. Short warm down in the hall and around Crookes Valley.
