Circuits 25:00 [2]

Lunchtime circuits at S10, the usual.

Weights 20:00 [2]

And weights, with some extra work on my bad knee.

Running 25:00 [2] 5.0 km (5:00 / km)

To the gym and then into work, the knee felt about the same as Friday morning, but better after the session.

Crosstrainer 50:00 intensity: (10:00 @2) + (40:00 @4) 12.0 km (4:10 / km)

Back on my nemesis for an interval session after work. Horrible and hard, sweated everywhere and left a rancid puddle on the floor. I was thinking of Kitch's wise words every step of the way.

Running 15:00 [2] 3.0 km (5:00 / km)

Home from the gym.

Orienteering race 41:30 [3] 7.0 km (5:56 / km)
(injured)

British champs relay, dropped out of the first team on Friday so ran last leg for SYO2 with Gareth and Richard. I was pretty optimistic that the knee would bear up around a short course in pretty nice runnable terrain, but no chance. It started hurting within a few strides in the forest and although it didn't get much worse, it bothered me all the way. Had to keep the pace slow and stop for a few bits of stretching, dropping us down to 14th. Not much fun. At least the first team won!

Running 30:00 [2] 4.0 km (7:30 / km)

Good warm up and made myself do a decent warm down to stop the knee from seizing up.

Cycling 1:20:00 intensity: (20:00 @2) + (40:00 @3) + (20:00 @4)

Nice ride from my grandparents' place near Bristol. Around Chew Valley lake and up Dundrey hill, all on undulating roads with a few tough climbs.

Running Drills 15:00 [2] 1.0 km (15:00 / km)

After the ride had a go at some drills to see how the knee was feeling - almost no pain, so pretty happy about that.

Circuits 25:00 [2]

Circuits in the gym with Rob.

Weights 20:00 [2]

And weights, in a very bad mood because the knee was so sore again today.

Running 30:00 [2] 5.0 km (6:00 / km)

Into the gym and back early in the morning. The knee was really sore today and this felt like a bit of a setback.

Running 45:00 [3] 10.0 km (4:30 / km)

Extended IW at a 'normal' pace including a lap of town and out along Eccy Road. Very dull route, but wanted to keep it as flat as possible and on roads. Knee felt best it has yet and the discomfort didn't get any worse at all.

Ran up one flight of stairs at work later in the day and that brought the pain back again - it just doesn't like certain movements very much.

Running 25:00 [2]

HFW, knee not feeling too bad.

Cycling 1:20:00 intensity: (30:00 @2) + (50:00 @3)

Morning bike ride, pretty similar route to Sunday. My bike was making an annoying clicking noise for the first half so I had to stop to sort it out before it drove me insane. Nice morning for it.

Climbing 1:00:00 [1]

Tough session at the works on a new black circuit with Gareth. Made it around most of the first 30 or so, but was struggling by the end.

Circuits 25:00 [2]
(injured)

Circuits session at S10.

Weights 20:00 [2]

And some weights, taking care on leg exercises not to overload the knee.

Running 25:00 [2] 5.0 km (5:00 / km)

Into S10 and then on to my office.

Running 25:00 [2] 5.0 km (5:00 / km)

Convoluted HFW sticking to the flat as much as possible, the longest I have run on my bad knee yet...I could feel it whenever I made an irregular movement, but otherwise the pain was pretty minimal.
