Pre-Christmas dinner hit out over the the University (via a bit of faffing when I got lost) for a spot of sprint orienteering around a new bit. Set off full of beans, but tired legs and the cold rain soon dampened my enthusiasm. Ouse in full spate looking impressive.

Stopped off en route to York for a nice run around Greno and Wharnecliffe. Sluggish to get going but managed to get moving for some fartlek. Ran mixed length reps from 2 mins to 6 mins, then ran fast to get back to the car in time from the far end of the area. Very wet and very cold in the strong wind, quite pleased to get back to the car at the end.

Xmas card delivery run IW. Couldn't work out where the Prestons live, but was looking in the wrong place as it turned out. Tired by the end of this, but bum was good, surprising after yesterday. Light at the end of the tunnel?

Eccy woods in the rain. Ran a few 3/1 min reps, did some drills and ran 3 short hill efforts. Hip behaving mostly, but responded best to the hills. I think that may have to be my diet for the time being as higher speeds on the flat seem to make it worse.

Well that was just what I needed. Long sleep and felt good when I woke up for the first time since I got this cold. Headed up to Ringinglow to make the most of the good weather and ran a nice loop via Redmires, Stanage and Burbage.

HFU. Felt rubbish again this morning, but then I did have a works do last night. Eventually managed a half-hearted run home from watching the Snowman at Firth Court. Soon perked up and ran 6xhill bounds on Charnley Rise at the end - getting further on each one as stiff joints loosened off.
