Not been a great few days. Came down with a fever on the journey out to Gran Canaria on Saturday and didn't leave my bed for three days. Improving slowly now, but still suffering aches and pains, headache, cough, blocked sinuses, etc. At least it makes the decision not to race nice and easy. Unfortunately I feel every bit as broken as I would have done had I made it to the finish line and I'm expecting to need a few more days to get back to normal. Best laid plans.

Woke at 5.30am to head to the airport with chills and aches. This was a day that seemed to go on forever.

This is where things started to deteriorate. Felt fine in the morning, but barely made it to the end of the day at work.
