Not such a promising forecast today, so stuck to the lower fells. Planned a route taking in a few hills, but Wansfell was just so much fun in the snow that I ended up doing it four times. Legs were surprisingly good and held out well.

Day out in the snow from Ambleside. Up Red Screes, Little Hart Crag, down to Brother Water, Hart Crag, Fairfield, down to Grasmere, Great Rigg and back down the ridge. Some unpleasant bits, particularly early on around Red Screes where the visibility was bad and the wind chill was nasty, but then the sun came out and all was right with the world. Lots of slogging in deep snow and quite little actual running involved, but worth it for the snowy descent into Rydal alone.
