Still on strike, so headed to the Lakes for a dose of hills. From Grasmere over Silver Howe, Loughrigg and Heron Pike. Up in the snow on the tops, bit of a sketchy descent.

Burnham Beeches, down with Jenny who was running Interland. Nice to run in a sunlit forest for a change and it was a good course with plenty of terrain running. Pretty shocked at the map though, which was like going back to the 1980s - not sure it justified the £19 entry (Burbage, by comparison, was £14). You could run pretty straight through areas of dark green, which had grown up, while areas of white were full of massive holly bushes. It sort of added to the challenge I suppose. Managed a pretty clean run and nice to be in the mix.

Strike day run back from Edale to Dore station over some nice snowy hills (Mam Tor, Lose Hill, Win Hil, Bamford Edge, Pole, Ox Stones). Some blizzard conditions, but also some nice sunshine. The snow was quite tough going in places with blancmange-y texture and slippy mud underneath, but some of the descents were a lot of fun. Prevailing wind the whole way, which helped progress. A real treat!
