Needed to get out early before a day out in York at a family and friends BBQ. This felt like an almighty effort, which I initially put down to the fact that I started running about 10 minutes after getting out of bed. Unfortunately the feeling never really improved and it remained a drag until the end. As the day went on it became apparent that I was actually feeling quite ill, so lots of rich food, small talk and garden games was not ideal. Felt properly bad by the time we made it home and it was straight to bed.

A few hills out at Castleton, mostly practicing hiking on a really steep gradient. Took in Wynnats, Mam Tor and Lord's Seat. Wet and cold for most of the time but the sun came out towards the end.

Nice evening run from Ringinglow taking in a few hills on Blacka. Started off feeling quite sluggish but got moving OK later on. R forefoot is a bit sore, especially on uphills, I think due to a bit of nerve pain and a tight calf. Eased off but was sore after. Love this route.

Ox Stones. It has been a while and I have been missing them. Ran relatively hard up the hill, easier on the way back down. It is feeling like a bit of a grind after over five weeks of taper, race, recover, taper, race, recover, cold.
