Friday May 31

Trail/Road Run 27:00 [3]3.75 mi (7:11 / mi)
Caught in Smith woods when huge thunderstorm with gale force winds blew by. Trees and branches coming down around me. Unplanned speed workout going home.

Thursday May 30

Orienteering 1:30:52 [3]6.6 mi (13:45 / mi)
At the Notch. Warm and humid (and carried no water) so went at an easy pace. No big mistakes.

Tuesday May 28

Trail/Road Run 50:26 [4]7.0 mi (7:12 / mi)
Mill River loop from home. Good effort, muggy conditions. (6:08; 23:00; 34:35)

Monday May 27

cycling 1:07:08 [3]
Haydenville loop, 20 mies. Felt great to be on the bike. 11:19; 19:27; 27:32; 38:28; 47:55; 67:08.

Sunday May 26

Trail Run 1:14:48 [3]8.0 mi (9:21 / mi)

Saturday May 25

Road Run (road race) 27:45 [5]4.33 mi (6:24 / mi)
Hadley road race. 60's and sunny. Ran a steady pace, a little better than expected. 7th place. Glen S., Graham, and Barry well ahead of me (in that order).
Road Run 20:00 [2]2.5 mi (7:59 / mi)
warm-up, cool-down.

Thursday May 23

Juggler.

Wednesday May 22

Trail Run 1:15:21 [4]9.0 mi (8:22 / mi)
Bull Hill loop on Mt Toby with Peter. I pushed up to the power line; then Peter took over and dragged me through the rest. Legs felt good, but conditioning way off.

Tuesday May 21

Track 13:00 [1]1.5 mi (8:39 / mi)
Warmed-up doing an 8:21 mile with Adam.
Track 12:17 [5]2.0 mi (6:08 / mi)
2 x 1600 x 400. 6:06; 6:11. Still in respiratory distress.

bike, 18; stepper, 18.

Sunday May 19

Trail Run 2:17:05 [4]14.5 mi (9:26 / mi)
Soapstone Trail race. Went out real easy and felt pretty good until final climb. Nice cool weather, but very wet and muddy. Lost 2-3 minutes by missing right turn up final ascent. (Made the same mistake two years ago; at least I'm consistent.) Aid station splits: 33:28; 1:03:03.
Trail Run 6:00 [2]0.75 mi (7:59 / mi)
Warm-up.

Saturday May 18

Trail Run 40:21 [3]5.0 mi (8:04 / mi)
To Flat Hills and back. (21:34. 18:46)

Thursday May 16

Road Run 36:39 [3]4.7 mi (7:48 / mi)
UMass short loop. Wasted from yesterday.

Wednesday May 15

Trail Run 1:31:10 [3]10.3 mi (8:51 / mi)
With Peter on Mt Toby. Felt sluggish. Need to build endurance back up.

Tuesday May 14

Track 13:12 [4]2.0 mi (6:35 / mi)
Cut it short. Still congested -- and unmotivated.
Track 16:00 [2]2.0 mi (7:59 / mi)
Before and after.

Monday May 13

machines 24:00 [3]
Stepper (324c.). Lifting.

Sunday May 12

Trail Run 54:29 [3]6.0 mi (9:05 / mi)
Mt. Tom loop (backwards: Whiting Peak, then Goat peak). Legs OK but remnants of cold still dragging me down.
Road Run 4:33 [2]0.5 mi (9:05 / mi)
To and from.

Saturday May 11

Track 13:08 [4]2.0 mi (6:34 / mi)
To see what running faster would feel like after a month. Not great.
Road Run 25:00 [2]2.0 mi (12:29 / mi)
To and from the track.

Friday May 10

Trail Run 46:11 [2]5.0 mi (9:13 / mi)
To Flat Hills Rd. and back. Snail's pace.

Thursday May 9

Trail Run 48:27 [3]6.0 mi (8:04 / mi)
Out and back to Juggler Meadow Rd. (25:03, 23:24). Feeling a little better.

Wednesday May 8

machines 24:00 [3]
Stepper. Put in some effort. (Hills, L12, 319 c) Still sick.

Tuesday May 7

Road Run 22:32 [2]3.0 mi (7:30 / mi)
In the midst of a bad cold. Looks like serious training will have to wait another week.

Sunday May 5

Trail Run 8:00 [2]1.0 mi (7:59 / mi)
warm-up.
Orienteering 1:07:34 [4]6.3 mi (10:43 / mi)
O-meet at Brainard, sunny and around 70 degrees. 6.3k, 67:34 excluding 2:20 copy time. Fast pace for me (10.7m/k); but due more to the many trail legs, rather than good orienteering. Around nine minutes of mistakes.

Red - Splits

Friday May 3

At the Notch.
