| Wolf Den "red". Went with Adam. He did yellow, and did OK given that it was his first O of the season, and I think his second yellow on his own.
The red course was pretty gnarly, with lots of laurel and rocky ground. My hamstring wasn't happy, and not being able to lift my leg very high caused numerous trips and falls. So another sub-par physical effort: I just can't seem to run through the woods like I was last fall.
The orienteering was mostly pretty good, but (yeah, one of those big "buts"), I lost about 14 minutes searching for the boulder at #2. The control was at a smallish boulder on a vague hillside with tons of unmapped boulders, which made it a bit of a bingo control. And my luck wasn't with me as I passed by it three times before spotting the flag tucked down low. Otherwise, some one minute misses (including the non-existent "cairn"). |

| Did the White course with Adam as a warm-up, so that he could get a feel for the basics (orienting the map, etc.) before heading out on his own on the yellow. He had the map; I tagged along. |

| Norwottuck, troll cup day 2 red from 2002. But just the first 10 controls because it was getting dark. Easy pace. Orienteering was about as close to perfect as I can do. Splits: 3:45, 3:22, 6:53, 4;52, 11:58, 3:55, 8:44, 4:54, 2:13, 10:39. |
