Hang gliding! (Morningside) 6:00 [4] +46m
shoes: Wal*Mart Carson

Carried up to the 150' once, then rode the ATV for five more trips up to the 250'. Nice day in the morning, though in the afternoon it started blowing out of the east, and everybody was just sitting around on launch hoping it would switch. All of my flights were very nicely executed, albeit brief due to the conditions.

Morningside 450 x 3. Didn't do much carrying, and did a bunch of sitting around, so I figured I should do three trips to at least get some exercise. Felt pretty good. On the last descent I came down the grass -- cowabunga!

Running in terrain 1:22:55 [3]

Tunxis Trail loop with Chalie. Very wet, puddles everywhere from the rain last night and this morning, cool temperatures when we were running. Brought Valerie's GPS, but I had neglected to leave it in the cradle long enough this past week to get it charged up, and I got a low battery warning as soon as I turned it on. It started okay, but the battery seems to have given out before we completed the loop -- after only 304 feet, in fact. And for some reason which may or may not be related, my laptop seems to have forgotten how to talk to the GPS. Have to reload the drivers, I suppose.

Running in terrain 45:44 [3] 7.2 km (6:21 / km)

Lane-Horse-Seaver loop, with Valerie's GPS on my hat. Worked much better this time, no beeping, and the track looks completely credible. This reveals the loop to be 7.2 km (4.5 miles), and purportedly 580 m of climb, although that's clearly bogus; 200 m is a more realistic value, I'd think.

Felt like I was kind of taking it easy, but the time is less than 30 seconds slower than the last couple of times.
