Orienteering race 31:20 [4]*** 3.87 km (8:06 / km)
shoes: VJ Falcons #1
First O-meet of the year for me. Orange course at Urban Forestry Center in Portsmouth, NH. This is a map that dates back to around the time I really started orienteering, originally made in 1983, but I had never run on it before. We didn't have the pleasure of visiting controls out on the salt marsh today (maybe not a great place to go in January). Level 4 in terms of effort, though not speed: wheezing pretty seriously for most of the run. Still, I managed a victory margin of around 5 minutes, although some of the earlier runners may have lost a bit of time due to a control that was initially misplaced. Didn't really make any mistakes, as the terrain was pretty easy.
C • This wheezing worries me. ... 4
Sit-ups 1:40 [5]
Push-ups 50 [5]
Pull-ups 15 [5]
Note
There was reportedly hang gliding to be had today, though not for me, since I was occupied elsewhere with orienteering matters. About two dozen pilots flew in Ellenville NY, and about 9 at Morningside in NH, including some very epic fights. Cool!
